We are seeking an entry-level to experienced Materials Testing Technician to support our Central and South teams on a large database project located in Haskell, Texas.As a Materials Testing Technician for TQF Central, you will report to the Project Engineer or Lab Manager, conducting a list of different soil and concrete tests in the field and in the lab settings to determine their suitability for the intended use. Your role is to ensure the contractor’s work meets quality standards and complies with project plans and testing specifications. A friendly face with a go-getter attitude and the desire to work together as a team to accomplish the day's work are a must! Traveling for work is an added bonus!This job is located outside of Haskell, TX and will be required to work longer shifts for 3 weeks on site [with one day off each week], then 1 week off. You will be living on-site at the base camp with everything provided to you (room and board, food, gym, laundry services etc.) Per diem is provided per day to offset your relocation and to provide additional support for your personal travel.More information to follow when given an interview. RESPONSIBLITIESComplete various field tasks such as sampling from stockpiles for laboratory testing; test concrete in accordance with standard procedures such as ACI; complete daily laboratory tests in routine and in accordance with ASTM proceduresHave a comprehensive understanding of the technical aspects of construction materials testingPrepare detailed and accurate daily reports using company's reporting systemAbility to evaluate technical documents such as construction plans and specifications, when applicableLong shifts with periods of standing, sitting, walking the jobsite, and carrying/lifting up to 50 pounds in the field and lab settingsQUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalentMust be able to travel for an extended amount of time out-of-stateExperience with construction materials testing and/or construction industry preferred, but will be trained prior to work assignment and while working on the projectStrong focus on safe work practices and adherence to all safety protocolsMust be detail oriented; able to work independently and also in a team environmentValid driver’s license and clean driving recordSelf-motivated, with strong technical problem-solving skillsStrong verbal and communication skillsCOMPETITIVE SALARY AND BENEFITS PACKAGEOvertime offered after 40 hrs/weekPer diem provided in weekly paychecksComprehensive group medical insurance, including health, prescription, dental, visionOpportunities for professional growth and advancementPaid time offCompany–observed paid holidaysCertification Reimbursement (if criteria is met upon passing exams)401(k) Retirement Savings Plan
