SQF).\nLeads and directs the work of other employees.\nHave some authority for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, or disciplinary actions.\nResponsible for direct supervision of Quality employees.\nKnowledge of all aspects of applicable regulations to include AIB, SQF, State, City, Federal, Kosher, Gluten Free and customer requirements.\nResponsible for supporting and maintaining compliance with third-party food safety and quality certification requirements, including the implementation and continual improvement of the facility’s food safety and quality management systems.\nResponsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the SQF System and ensuring compliance with all relevant food safety and quality requirements.\nTrack departmental KPI’s to effectively manage daily requirements to budgetary deliverables.\nUnderstands the details of SAP, specifically the Quality Module and know how to post process orders, access Finished Goods reports, access PM’s for printing and entering completed PM’s, access negative inventory, and know how to perform a mock recall through the system.\nMust be familiar with the local and corporate QMS Policies and Procedures, and respective SOPs. The supervisor must practically understand how the quality data is achieved and must be proficient with laboratory testing methods, product standards/specifications, and demonstrate technical decision making.\nCommunicate Site Quality Objectives, Policies, and Procedures to employees across all functional departments and maintain accountability.\nSkilled in using Lab Data Collection Programs to track, analyze, and trend data, enter new products, update specifications, and manage key metrics like product limits, hold product, employee benchmarks, and certificates of analysis.\nMaintain laboratory equipment in good working condition to include scheduling preventative maintenance and calibration requirements. Stock and order lab and sanitation supplies and consumables.\nAssist with the approval/release/rejection all raw materials, finished goods and in-process materials.\nUnderstands basic chemistry and have a broad understanding of laboratory equipment, root cause analysis, food safety and food quality metrics/limits. Must be proficient with making in-process batch adjustments.\nStrong training and personal development skills to drive new productivity goals as defined from time to time.\nDemonstrates leadership to employees to ensure consistent quality of work.\nAudits and maintains records necessary for compliance requirements.\nResponsibility to take action when notified or becomes aware of any Food Safety or Food Quality issue.\nAccountable for a safe working environment through the development of strategies focused on accident reduction as well as energy and waste minimization.\nBackup to Quality Manager.\n\nRequired Skills:\n\nWorking knowledge of Excel, Word, and SAP required.\nExperience using measurement tools and equipment (e.g., HPLC, densitometer, pH meters, etc) required.\nOrganized and detail oriented, adaptable to change.\nAbility to apply statistical methods to analyze data and identify trends. \nHigh level of precision and accuracy in inspection and testing processes. \nKnowledge of GFSI, GMP, FDA and other relevant standards and regulations preferred.\nPrior inspection experience in a laboratory setting.\nWritten and verbal communication, analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and organizational skills.\n\nCompetencies:\n\nLeadership - Foster a culture of empowerment by building relationships based on trust, lead courageously on a day-to-day basis, and inspire growth with a clear and ambitious vision that guides the collective effort toward success.\nTime Management - Efficiently managing schedules, prioritizing tasks, and adapting to changing demands.\nAdaptability - Flexibility to adapt to changing production environments and requirements\n\nEducation and Experience:\n\nBS degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology or related discipline preferred (or equivalent related experience).\nThree (3) plus years supervisory experience in quality within a high-speed beverage manufacturing environment preferred.\nKnowledge of quality systems (GMP, HACCP, SQF) – certification preferred.\n\nWorking Conditions:\n\nWork Schedule: Weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evenings, overnight and holidays may be required.\nWork Environment: Operating in a fast-paced production plant with numerous moving parts. Noise levels require hearing protection and temperatures can get very hot and/or relatively cold.
