Senior Accountant

Job Title: Senior AccountantPosition OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role oversees core accounting functions, supports FP&A initiatives, and ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, advanced Excel skills, and hands-on experience managing the close process.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review journal entries in compliance with accounting standardsLead and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processesPrepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flowPartner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysisReconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepanciesSupport internal and external audits by providing documentation and analysisDevelop and maintain financial reports and dashboards using advanced ExcelIdentify and implement process improvements and automation opportunitiesEnsure compliance with GAAP and internal policiesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field4+ years of accounting experienceStrong understanding of accounting principles and financial reportingProven experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and close processesExperience collaborating with or supporting FP&A functionsAdvanced Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, complex formulas)Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilitiesHigh attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlinesPreferred QualificationsExperience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)Background in a fast-paced or high-growth environmentWork EnvironmentFully onsite in a professional office settingCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary, bonus eligibility, and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and retirement plansAscendo is an equal opportunity employer.
