Truck Driver - Straight Truck
Position SummaryUnder general supervision, the Non-CDL Straight Truck Driver delivers aluminum extrusion and related materials to area customers using a 26-foot straight truck. This role is responsible for safe vehicle operation, accurate delivery, cargo securement, and adherence to all DOT, company, and safety regulations. The driver works closely with warehouse personnel, dispatch, and customers to ensure timely and professional service.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesThe following duties are typical of those performed by employees in this job title; however, employees may perform other related duties, and not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each employee with this job title.Operate a 26’ Straight Truck (Non-CDL) safely and professionallyOperate the vehicle in compliance with all local, state, federal and company driving regulations and safety standardsMaintain proper vehicle control when navigating narrow areas, customer sites, or challenging road conditionsSafely load and unload aluminum extrusions and related materials using proper handling methodsCheck that loads are properly secured with straps, edge protectors, or other required securement devicesReview shipping paperwork for accuracy and any special handling requirementsWear appropriate safety equipment (PPE) when handling materialsMaintain Electronic Logging Device (ELD) logbook in accordance with DOT regulationsComplete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspection reportsMaintain truck cleanliness, safety, and general operational conditionsKeep securement devices (straps, tarps, etc.) clean and properly storedCommunicate professionally with customers, warehouse personnel, and supervisorsNotify management of delivery issues, damaged material, or customer concernsOther duties may be assigned to meet business needsQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
