Software Engineer – Prototype & Platform DevelopmentOverviewWe are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join a global automotive engineering organization in Raymond, OH, supporting the development of innovative software solutions within a fast-paced research and prototype-driven environment.This is an intermediate-level, coding-focused role where the primary responsibility is hands-on software development. The ideal candidate will spend most of their time writing code, contributing to prototype systems, and supporting proof-of-concept and proof-of-value initiatives under the direction of senior and principal engineers.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement software solutions based on direction from senior and principal engineersContribute heavily to hands-on coding and day-to-day software development activitiesSupport rapid prototyping, proof-of-concept, and research-focused development initiativesCollaborate with technical leads to execute implementation tasks and technical designsParticipate in the development of experimental and prototype systems supporting automotive innovationAssist in integrating software components across local/on-machine environmentsSupport debugging and issue resolution during prototype development cyclesRequired Skillset:5+ years of professional software development experienceStrong hands-on coding ability with solid software development fundamentalsStrong proficiency in PythonExperience working within collaborative Agile development environmentsStrong understanding of full-stack software development and system integrationExperience with front-end and back-end development frameworks and toolsHands-on GUI development experience using modern frameworks and technologiesExperience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, including SQL and NoSQL technologiesUnderstanding of software security principles and cybersecurity best practicesPreferred Skillset:Experience with additional programming languages such as C++ and/or Java (Multi-language exposure preferred).
