Any domain.\n\nSecurity Clearance: This Senior Network Engineer position must be a United States Citizen and hold a current Top Secret security clearance.\nResponsibilities:\nDesign & Architecture:\nDevelop and implement high-availability and fault-tolerant network architectures (LAN, WAN, MAN).\nOversee the design of SD-WAN, cloud networks, and virtualized network infrastructures, including multi-path routing, encryption, bandwidth aggregation, and LPI/LPD (Low Probability of Intercept/Detection) capabilities\nPlan and execute network segmentation for security and efficiency.\nRouting & Switching:\nConfigure and manage advanced routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and RIP.\nImplement and troubleshoot Layer 2/Layer 3 switching technologies, including VLANs, STP, and trunking.\nSupport IPv6 deployment and multicast network solutions.\nIntegration: Ensure the seamless integration of network solutions and other critical mission systems. Work with cross-functional teams to deploy network solutions in both classified and unclassified environments.\nNetwork Security:\nImplement and maintain firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS solutions to secure the network.\nDesign and manage network security protocols, including IPSec, SSL/TLS, and Zero Trust models.\nEnsure compliance with NIST and ISO 27001 security frameworks.\nPerformance Monitoring & Troubleshooting:\nUtilize network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Wireshark, etc.) to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.\nApply QoS principles to ensure effective data prioritization and throughput optimization.\nManage load balancing and failover configurations.\nImplement best path routing, bandwidth aggregation, and failover mechanisms to optimize network performance.\nAutomation & Scripting:\nDevelop and implement network automation processes using tools like Ansible and scripting languages like Python or Bash.\nWork with CI/CD pipelines to streamline network configuration changes.\nDocumentation & Reporting:\nCreate and maintain detailed network documentation, including topology diagrams, runbooks, and performance reports.\nProvide regular reports on network health, security incidents, and performance metrics.\nCollaboration & Leadership:\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support network infrastructure projects.\nMentor junior network engineers and provide leadership in troubleshooting and crisis management.\nLead vendor management efforts and collaborate on equipment procurement and deployment strategies.\nQualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field\nTS Clearance with SCI Eglibility\nMinimum 7+ years of experience in network engineering roles, with a focus on enterprise-level networks.Advanced certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent are highly desirable.\nExpertise in routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP).\nStrong knowledge of network security, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and encryption technologies.\nExperience with SD-WAN, network automation, and virtualization technologies (Juniper SVR, Cisco ACI, VMware NSX).\nFamiliarity with cloud networking in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.\nScripting experience (Python, Bash, etc.) for network automation and configuration.\nProficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Wireshark).\nExtensive experience with DoD Classified Networks\nExcellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.\nExperience with project management for network infrastructure projects is a plus.\nPreferred Skills:\nExperience with cloud network services (AWS, Azure).\n\nSince 2006, Intelligent Waves has remained committed to providing quality engineering, operations, and intelligence solutions to our clients and it all starts with YOU.\n\nIntelligent Waves provides a great and generous benefits package to include medical, dental and vision, paid PTO leave and, life & disability packages.
