FlatironDragados' Intern Program provides challenging and rewarding work opportunities for college students majoring in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Construction Management.\nThe Construction Engineering Group focuses on the “how” when it comes to constructing the work. This team of specialized engineers has extensive experience in designing and constructing various temporary works.\nWhat you will be doing Works alongside and under the guidance of a Construction Engineer and/or Senior CAD Designer to produce drawings including tolerances, dimensions, materials, and technical project data based on feedback and design specifications\nHelps prepare preliminary designs in accordance with construction means and methods to be reviewed and calculated by the Construction Engineer team.\nAnalyzes sketches, notes, and other input materials to determine best approach to complete drawings using internal software and programs.\nIdentifies locations and/or structures that need engineering.\nEvaluates layout drawings at the direction of leadership to ensure drawings comply with engineering requirements, Company standards, and project contract specifications.\nHelps build detailed drawings to accurately and completely describe construction design intent and critical elements.\nCalculates quantities and dimensions within procedural and standard practice limitations.\nDrafts design plans for temporary works (falsework, shoring, temporary bridges, formwork, slopes, etc.), ensuring completeness and accuracy with regulatory standards and within the contract specifications.\nHelps design temporary construction elements ensuring ease of constructability, cost effectiveness with materials onsite or purchased, balancing between optimization and feasibility of onsite project construction.\nSubmits design for peer review or approval review in an accurate and timely manner to avoid construction delays on the project site.
