The Controller will be hands-on in executing and directing analysis and reporting of financial information including cost accounting, budgets, planning, required filings and reports. Working with senior leadership, this role helps shape the direction and strategic initiatives through thoughtful, detailed financial analysis and planning.\n\nFunctions:\n\nLead the Accounting Function: Own the general ledger, month-end and quarter-end close, financial statements, accounting policies, close calendar, reconciliations, and coordination of external accounting, tax, and audit activities.\nLead Manufacturing & Cost Accounting: Own inventory valuation, WIP, COGS, BOMs, product costing, standard and actual costing, overhead allocation, purchase-price and manufacturing variances, inventory reconciliations, cycle counts, and physical inventory.\nOwn NetSuite & Accounting Infrastructure: Ensure NetSuite and the chart of accounts accurately support BOMs, item masters, inventory transactions, manufacturing activity, product costing, and financial reporting. Lead improvements to workflows, controls, integrations, and reporting.\nDrive Costing & Manufacturing Data Accuracy: Partner closely with Operations and Engineering to maintain accurate BOMs, item masters, routings, and costed BOMs, ensuring material, labor, overhead, and manufacturing changes are properly reflected in accounting.\nManage Financial Controls & Compliance: Develop and enforce internal controls, accounting policies, segregation of duties, journal-entry approvals, master-data controls, and safeguards over revenue, costs, inventory, and expenditures. Ensure compliance with US GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.\nLead Financial Reporting & SEC Compliance: Oversee timely and accurate quarterly and annual financial reporting, including SEC filings, financial statements, management reporting, forecasts, and analysis. Serve as a primary liaison with external auditors and accounting advisers.\nSupport Treasury, Budgeting & Financial Strategy: Manage cash positioning, banking relationships, debt and covenant monitoring, and liquidity forecasting. Lead budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, scenario planning, and financial modeling in partnership with the CFO and senior leadership.\nBuild & Lead the Accounting Team: Develop and manage the accounting team, establish scalable processes and institutional knowledge, and take a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves approach to building and improving accounting and manufacturing-costing capabilities.\nOther job-related duties as assigned\n\nRequirements\n\nEducation & Experience:\n\nCPA required.\n7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 1–2+ years in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role.\nProven experience with a publicly traded company and SEC reporting.\nSignificant manufacturing and cost accounting experience, including BOMs, inventory valuation, WIP, COGS, overhead allocation, standard costing, and manufacturing variances.\nHands-on NetSuite experience in a manufacturing environment, including inventory, BOMs, item setup, and product costing.\nStrong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, month-end/quarter-end close, and internal controls.\nExperience managing or supporting external audits and SEC reporting requirements.\nAbility to analyze and improve ERP/accounting processes and controls, not simply generate reports.\nStrong analytical skills with the ability to connect manufacturing operations, inventory, and costs to financial results.\nProven experience leading, managing, and developing accounting teams.\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience improving manufacturing accounting processes, ERP controls, inventory costing, BOMs, or item masters.\nExperience in technology, aerospace, defense, electronics, energy, or other complex manufacturing environments.\nMBA, CMA, or additional relevant professional certification.\n\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):\n\nStrong understanding of financial and cost accounting principles and practices\nStrong financial data analysis skills\nWorking knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting\nExperience in streamlining accounting processes\nExemplary history of financial project management\nOutstanding skills in accurate reporting and analysis, detail-oriented auditing\nDemonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and conduct work with highest standards of ethics\nDemonstrated ability to influence others, build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to accomplish business objectives\nDemonstrated ability to assume personal accountability, address limitations, exhibits honesty and respect towards others, the company and oneself\nDemonstrated ability to work independently, assessing business needs, and using problem solving skills to address challenges\nDemonstrated ability to serve and actively contribute as an active team member on the immediate team and the larger organization.
