Position DescriptionSupervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments, and preparing items for shipment by performing the following duties.Essential Duties And Responsibilities Accountable to meet all budget requirements. Oversees and participates in the inspection of incoming raw materials to verify accuracy of quantity, quality, and loading specifications. Directs all shipping and receiving employees to ensure shipments are being properly loaded, received, and shipped. Initiates changes to web scheduler based upon inventory and carriers. Maintains shipping staff job results by coaching, counseling, training, and disciplining employees. In addition to planning, monitoring, and appraising job result. Oversees placement of trailers and equipment in yard. Maintains organization of scrap and finished goods within the warehouse. Maintains organization and cleanliness of the warehouse inside and out. Monitors and maintains a secure site. Manages and approves all timecards and schedules. Able to cover various shifts when clerks are not available. Responsible for maintaining supplies. Process and complete inbound and outbound shipments in SAP. Open to become a mobile equipment trainer. Ensures 100% Behavior-Based Safety participation. Complete incident reports when needed. Complies with all environmental, health, safety, and housekeeping programs. Performs other duties, as assigned. QualificationsA. PRE-HIRE REQUIREMENTS2 years of experience as supervisor or manager in shipping and receiving preferred.Strong proven leadership skillsStrong interpersonal communications skills; written and verbalRecordkeeping and organizational skills.Detail-oriented with accuracy and speed.Math aptitude.Proficient computer and keyboarding skills; prefer Excel, Word and SAP.Good attendance, reliability record.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.B. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.B. WORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment. If duties require entry to an arsenic or cadmium controlled area, appropriate respiratory protection must be worn.
