Our ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, be self-motivated, able to multi-task and be a problem-solver, show a strong attention to detail and organization, and most importantly, believe in a team-oriented approach.\nPRIMARY FUNCTION:\nA Superintendent oversees the operations of a construction site, from planning to completion. The duties of a construction superintendent will vary; however, they can expect to be responsible for daily scheduling, supervising all activities and tasks, and ensuring the safety and compliance of the site.\nKey Responsibilities are and not limited to:\nWork with architects, engineers and/or consultants in pre-development/planning of upcoming projects to assist in obtaining permits and/or approval of revisions of plans etc.\nWork with Project manager to prepare a construction baseline schedule including sequencing of critical path items.\nPrepare project lookaheads to be presented to subcontractors and client. Maintain and update on a weekly basis.\nSchedule and plan with subcontractors/ vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion of their contracted scope of work.\nField supervision of daily work of subcontractors, suppliers and/or vendors including flow of materials on/off job site and coordinating access by approved personnel to their work areas.\nPerform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.\nEnsure that subcontractors are fully executing and complying with their contracted scope of work.\nPreside over weekly subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate the current/future work.\nCoordinate all required inspections with local, state, and federal jurisdictions for code compliance.\nIdentify subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards and remedy on site and/or report to management for further resolution if the need arises.\nIdentify conflicts or issues with construction progress and communicate them to management for discussion and resolution of such.\nMaintain daily reports of activities and/or happenings on the job site.\nEnsure subcontractors have corrected all deficiencies identified by management in a documented way.\nMeet regularly with accounting and management to review overall project progress and compliance with approved project schedules and/or budgets.\nIssue notices of non-compliance to subcontractors regarding quality of work or scheduling and issue back charges if corrective action involves third party remedies outside normal scope of work.\nEnsure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.\nAssist in the budgeting, bid process and awarding of contracts to subcontractors, suppliers, or consultants.\nMaintain project files for materials, tracking submissions, safety data sheets, operation manuals, approvals & permitting etc.\nPerform Superintendent duties at multiple job sites, simultaneously if necessary.\nOpening of the job site(s) at beginning of the day and securing job site(s) at end of the day.\nWalk jobsite throughout the day to monitor activities and assist in future planning.\nPhysical Demands:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nThis position involves work at a construction and/or land development site where duties will be performed both indoors and outdoors.\nThe employee is often required to stand and walk; climb, balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch to regularly inspect job sites.\nThe employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to sit for hours during meetings and/or to process their paperwork etc.\nRequirements:\nA high school diploma or equivalent is required.\n3 to 5 years or more of experience in commercial and government construction\nDemonstrated business acumen with strong presentation, communication (verbal and written), problem solving, financial and leadership skills.\nAbility to maintain composure, professionalism and objectivity in difficult situations and effectively resolve conflicts.\nComputer skills in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software based on project requirements\nAbility to pass a government background check to work on Military Bases and in Government Facilities.\nMust hold a valid Drivers License\nRitz Construction Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
