Job Overview

Duties
Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed history-taking to determine immediate needs and ongoing care strategies.
Triage patient calls and address urgent concerns
Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments
Manage complex medical procedures such as suturing, catheterization, tube feeding, and ventilator management with precision and aseptic technique.
Conduct diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection/processing and basic imaging procedures like sonography or mammography when applicable.
Provide specialized care for patients with acute pain, infectious diseases, or those requiring trauma medicine or ICU-level interventions in Level I or Level II trauma centers.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and compliance with healthcare standards such as NCQA standards and HIPAA regulations.
Engage in patient education on health coaching topics like geriatrics, dementia care, hospice & palliative medicine, or behavioral health to promote wellness and recovery.
Experience
Proven experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including ICU and emergency room), outpatient clinics, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or home care settings.
Critical care experience in ICU or trauma centers is highly desirable; familiarity with Level I & II trauma center protocols is preferred.
Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation.
Strong background in medical-surgical nursing, internal medicine, pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), geriatrics, or behavioral health nursing.
Skilled in performing advanced procedures such as IV insertion/venipuncture, sterile processing techniques, ostomy care, and infection control practices.
Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures, and familiarity with laboratory testing processes enhances clinical effectiveness.
Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays across various age groups is advantageous; familiarity with Workers' Compensation law is a plus.
