New Freedom's Therapist performs a variety of therapeutic services to provide psychological care to members/clients receiving treatment. This treatment includes a focus on various behavioral challenges such as substance abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder, post incarceration syndrome, and co-occurring behavioral health needs. This position works collaboratively with all members of the treatment team including the member and family in conjunction with the team Re-Entry Specialists and Certified Peer Support and Recovery Specialists. The level of care for the program is Intensive Outpatient Services, with specific curriculum and program design. Duties and Responsibilities:Observes members, listens to their concerns, records their observations and reports to mental health professionals about any unusual behavior(s).Provides individual psychotherapy to members on their caseloadDevelops and implements service plansProvides quality care for members on an outpatient basisAssesses a member's changes in mood, and determines whether it is positive, negative, or potentially dangerous and takes steps to modify the member's actions or alerts the supervisory teamAssists members in articulating personal goals for recovery using one-to-one and group sessionsSupports members in identifying and creating goals and developing recovery plans with the skills, strengths, supports, and resources to aid them in achieving those goalsAssists members in working with their Re-Entry Specialist, Peer Coach, and/or treatment team in determining the steps needed to achieve the goals and self-directed recoveryAssists members in setting up and sustaining self-help (mutual support) groups, as well as means of locating and joining existing groupsUses ongoing individual and group sessions to teach members how to re-enter from incarceration, using appropriate clinical modalities like motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavioral therapy, etc.Assists members in building social skills in the community that will enhance job acquisition and tenureMaintains safety for staff and members, including effective securing of documents and filesWorks with other treatment team members to plan, market, and implement new programsFacilitates two (2) to three (3)-hour group(s) five (5) days a week with pre-determined curriculumCompletes monthly individual counseling sessions with members of assigned caseloadCompletes staffing meetings with treatment teamCompletes all necessary and required documentation within 24 hours of service(s) providedEffectively meets any/all outlined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring the highest quality and level of member care and engagement is providedReceives and actively engages in clinical supervision and oversight each week/month based on BHPP/BHT designation requirements, including completion of all continuing education requirementsIn addition, all other duties as assigned At New Freedom, we restore lives and reintegrate communities through intentional guidance by providing our members with a sense of identity, purpose, and hope.
