This pattern maker will partner with Design for the implementation and execution of the 3D fitting and pattern making process. This process will play a key role in improving overall fit and aesthetic of Proto samples, to increasing overall speed to market. The person in this role will bring with them drive and passion for developing technically sound garments with fabulous fit that cater to the body con LA woman. This position requires an out of the box thinker who can collaborate with the existing team, outside vendors and across all levels of the organization.\nMajor Responsibilities:\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.\nPartner with Design through the hand off and 3D fitting process\nCreate a 3D rendering of pattern to review with design\nCreate and adjust patterns in digital software (Tukatech, Gerber, CLO)\nCreate and adjust Drapes on the dress form and live models.\nDraft and revise pattern from 1st proto to Production for our Domestic Partners\nWork with inhouse studio, cutting and sewing departments to create proto type & sew by samples\nConduct fitting with Design and other cross functional teams, and adjust patterns accordingly\nCommunicate with vendors to ensure desired fit and design intent is executed in 1st proto stage\nEnsure all pattern revisions are completed within a timely manner to ensure deadlines are maintained\nManage reporting for internal communications\nComplete ad hoc assign by management\n\nCompetencies:\nTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:\nStrong understanding of construction and patterns\nStrong understanding of fabrics, interlinings, trims and their properties\nCreate cutting tickets, mini markers, and sewing instructions for the Studio team\nHigh level of attention to detail\nAbility to multi-task while staying organized\nHigh sense of urgency, punctuality and timeliness\nMust have a strong work ethic and motivation to learn\nWorks well individually, as well as, with a team\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nDegree in apparel manufacturing, product development or apparel design related field\n10+ years work experience as pattern maker\nProficient in digital pattern making programs: Gerber, Tukatech or similar\nIn depth knowledge of fabric, apparel, materials, construction and fit\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nConsistent work experience and steady career progression as a pattern maker\nWork experience at premium and/or contemporary women’s fashion brands\n\nA successful candidate works well in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
