Job Title: Director of the Health Center (School Nurse)Location: St. Timothy’s School - Private All-Girls High SchoolSchedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PMPosition Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to serve as the Director of the Health Center at St. Timothy’s School. This role is ideal for a nurse who is passionate about adolescent health, values collaboration, and enjoys working in a close-knit educational community. The Director will oversee daily health services, promote student wellness, and ensure a safe and supportive environment for all students. The Director will carry an on-call phone.Key Responsibilities:Manage and operate the school’s Health Center, providing direct care and case management to studentsAssess, treat, and monitor student health concerns, including acute illness and chronic conditions.Maintain accurate health records and medication administration documentation. Ensures that all students’ paperwork, including physicals, immunization records, consent-to-treat forms, over-the-counter medication forms, and insurance, is accurately completed before each school year.Partner with a local pediatrician to coordinate student care and ensure best practices.Collaborate closely with the athletic trainer to support student-athlete health and injury management. Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, faculty, and staff regarding student health needs.Ensure compliance with state regulations, immunization laws, and school health policies.Provide emergency care for injuries or sudden illness, with appropriate referrals to Emergency Medical Services and area hospitals.Serve as case manager to boarding students, scheduling medical, dental, and vision appointments, preparing paperwork, gathering records for appointments, and coordinating transportation to and from appointments using school vehicles.Collaborate with school mental health personnel concerning students with social and/or emotional difficulties.Manage the packaging, inventory tracking, and procurement of both prescription and over-the-counter medications.Manages inventory of health equipment, materials, and supplies.Provides medical attention to students as needed, triaging after-hours and weekend student health concerns as they arise.Takes students to the hospital and/or urgent care as needed and stays with the student until discharge.Manages and responds to all calls and inquiries received on the nurse on-call phone from on-duty administrators and house faculty.Conducts CPR, First Aid, and Medical Technician training. Qualifications:Active Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) licenseExperience in pediatrics, school nursing, or adolescent health preferredStrong clinical judgment and organizational skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a collaborative teamWork Schedule & Time Off:Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PMTime off includes:Thanksgiving Break (1 week)Christmas/New Year’s Break (2 weeks)Spring Break (1 week)Summer Break (During the month of June)Benefits:·      Competitive salary·      Medical, dental, and vision insurance·      401(k) with employer matchingWhy Join Us?This is a unique opportunity to play a leadership role in a supportive boarding school environment, build meaningful relationships with students, and contribute to a culture that prioritizes health, wellness, and academic success.To Apply:Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your interest and experience to jghunter@stt.org.
