Education & Experience A minimum of two years' experience in electronic hospital billing or collections within a medical environment is required. Strong skills in accounting and proficiency with personal computers, including Microsoft Windows, are essential. Requirements Knowledge of third-party claim adjudication including Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, commercial insurance, and managed care. Familiarity with medical terminology and coding systems such as CPT, ICD-9/10, and HCPCS is preferred. Successful completion of departmental training with a score of 75% or higher on topics like reimbursement calculation, UB-04 forms, patient account terminology, and system navigation. Experience with personal computer software and office equipment. Strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical thinking, and accurate mathematical abilities. Near visual acuity and motor coordination for repetitive computer and office equipment tasks. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and communicate effectively by telephone.
