The team is hiring experienced product engineers to take ownership of customer-facing systems from specification through delivery, measurement and ongoing improvement.About the opportunityThis is a hands-on, backend-leaning full stack engineering role within a small product engineering team. You will build production systems handling high-volume financial transactions, complex integrations and AI-powered workflows.The environment suits engineers who are comfortable with significant ownership, rapid product iteration and direct exposure to users. AI-assisted development is embedded into the engineering workflow, with the team placing particular emphasis on clear specifications, effective decomposition and strong technical judgement.The roleYou will own features across the stack, working across backend services, data models, APIs, frontend experiences, testing and production operations.The role combines traditional product engineering with applied large language model and AI capabilities. You will work on systems where reliability, observability and safe production deployment are particularly important.Key responsibilitiesDesign and build high-volume payment processing systems and secure financial APIsDevelop full stack, customer-facing features from initial requirements through production releaseBuild and maintain integrations with enterprise resource planning and financial systemsDevelop LLM-powered workflows supporting financial decision-making, matching, communications and operational processesBuild real-time data pipelines processing large volumes of financial recordsDevelop automation for accounts receivable and related financial workflowsCreate evaluation frameworks, observability and guardrails for production AI featuresWork directly with users and customer feedback to shape product decisionsMonitor shipped features and take ownership of their ongoing performance and customer experienceEssential requirementsStrong experience as a backend-leaning full stack software engineer, with recent ownership of production systems and user-facing featuresBackend expertise using a model-view-controller framework such as Ruby on Rails, Django or Spring BootAdvanced experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQLProven ability to ship across backend, frontend, database schema and testing without relying on extensive hand-offsExperience working in an environment with rapid product iteration and meaningful engineering ownershipPractical use of AI-assisted development tools and workflowsStrong ability to translate product requirements into clear, scoped technical workWillingness to engage directly with users and take responsibility beyond initial feature releaseNice-to-havesExperience shipping agentic AI or LLM features into productionExperience with AI evaluation systems, A/B testing or multi-armed bandit approachesRelevant experience in fintech, payments, billing or other financial systemsExperience with Ruby on Rails, React, PostgreSQL, AWS or TerraformLocation and remote setupThis is a full-time, remote position for candidates based in the US.
