Description:
The Warehouse Team Lead provides hands-on leadership and direction for the Shipping, Receiving, and Warehouse operations. This role ensures the accurate, efficient, and organized logistics and storage of components while actively supporting daily shipping and receiving activities.
Key Responsibilities:
· Leadership & Team Management
o Lead Shipping, Receiving, and Warehouse employees by setting daily priorities, providing clear instructions, and ensuring tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
o Manage personnel schedules, timesheets, and PTO approvals.
o Facilitate performance management and disciplinary actions as needed.
o Provide training and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
· Inventory & Warehouse Management
o Accurately receive, transfer, and issue parts within the inventory management system.
o Manage shipping, receiving, and warehouse supplies; communicate purchasing needs proactively.
o Conduct inventory transaction audits and cycle counts to maintain accurate stock levels.
o Lead consolidation projects to optimize warehouse layout and storage capacity.
o Create and work with safety stock jobs to assemble/kit stock assemblies, including performing all necessary system transactions.
· Shipping & Receiving Operations
o Unload incoming trucks and receive parts, ensuring they are accurately logged and placed in their correct storage locations.
o Locate and pick parts from warehouse and external storage locations using system-generated pick lists.
o Read and interpret engineering prints to identify correct parts for orders and production.
o Package components for shipment and schedule outbound freight in coordination with carriers.
o Analyze freight costs and collaborate with freight companies to ensure the most efficient shipping methods are utilized.
o Assist with machine teardowns and preparation for shipment when needed.
· Safety & Equipment
o Enforce all company safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
o Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
o Properly use and care for company tools and equipment.
o Train on and become certified in the use of forklifts, cranes, and other necessary machinery.
o Follow all quality standards and procedures in daily work.
· Continuous Improvement & Support
o Provide feedback and input for annual budgeting processes.
o Assist with material handling and general facility and grounds maintenance (e.g., snow removal, cleaning, mowing) as needed to support overall operations.
Position Requirements:
· Supervisory experience and strong leadership skills preferred
· 2–5 years of warehouse, shipping/receiving, or logistics experience
· Knowledge of warehouse functions and agricultural equipment parts preferred
· Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF software; experience with inventory systems a plus
· Experience operating forklifts, skid loaders, or pay loaders preferred
· Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
· Self-motivated, resourceful, and team-oriented
· Able to make decisions independently and take direction effectively
· Occasional travel required
Physical/Work Environment:
Individuals may need to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods.
The position may require reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist, or lifting 50 pounds. Proper lifting techniques are required.
The performance of this position will require exposure to manufacturing areas where the use of personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses with side shields, is required.
