Assistant Group Home Manager
**SCHEDULE**
Saturday through Wednesday 3PM - 11PM
Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour
Position Overview
The Assistant Manager for Group Homes works under the supervision of the Program Director to provide supportive and compassionate care to residents while ensuring the smooth daily operation of the facility. This role combines administrative duties with direct resident support and staff supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Resident Care & Support
Assist in developing and implementing individual care plans for residents
Ensure residents receive appropriate support for daily living activities
Monitor resident health and well-being, coordinating with healthcare providers as needed
Foster a positive, respectful environment that promotes independence and dignity
Respond to and manage crises or emergencies according to established protocols
Staff Supervision
Assist in scheduling, training, and supervising direct care staff
Provide guidance and mentorship to support staff development
Conduct regular staff meetings and performance evaluations
Ensure staff compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations
Administrative Duties
Maintain accurate resident records and documentation
Assist with budget management and expense tracking
Ensure facility compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
Coordinate facility maintenance and supply inventory
Complete required reports and documentation in a timely manner
Program Development
Assist in planning and implementing resident activities and programs
Evaluate program effectiveness and suggest improvements
Collaborate with community resources to enhance services
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Valid NJ NON-PROBATIONARY Driver's License
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 1 year of experience working with those with developmental disabilities in a group home setting
Previous supervisory experience preferred
Knowledge & Skills
Understanding of applicable regulations and standards for group home operation
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
Basic computer skills and documentation abilities
Working Conditions
Weekends required
Occasional on-call responsibilities
Possible exposure to challenging behaviors or medical situations
May require physical assistance to residents
