Intermodal Truck Dispatcher

Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented, high-energy Intermodal Dispatcher to join our growing logistics team. In this critical role, you will coordinate the movement of freight across multiple transportation modes (rail, truck, and container shipping) to ensure on-time, cost-effective delivery for our customers. You will serve as the central point of communication between customers, carriers, rail providers, and internal teams in a fast-paced 24/7 environment.Key ResponsibilitiesManage daily dispatch operations for intermodal shipments, including rail-to-truck and truck-to-rail movementsCoordinate with trucking companies, railroads (e.g., BNSF, UP), and drayage providers to secure equipment and schedule pickups/deliveriesTrack and monitor container and trailer movements using TMS (Transportation Management System) and provide proactive status updates to customersResolve service failures, delays, and other operational issues quickly and effectivelyNegotiate rates and secure capacity with carrier partners when neededEnsure compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, and customer-specific requirementsMaintain accurate records of shipments, demurrage, detention, and accessorial chargesCommunicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal stakeholders via phone, email, and TMS platformsOptimize load planning to maximize efficiency and minimize costsParticipate in after-hours on-call rotation as required
