ESG supports a variety of government customers spanning technology domains. It’s a fast-paced, responsive development environment delivering new capabilities to customers rapidly and affordably. The ESG portfolio consists of a range of platforms and technologies including the X-37B, the world’s first fully autonomous reusable spaceplane.\n\nPosition Responsibilities:\n\nDefine requirements for propulsion system components used in vehicle cryogenic fuel, oxidizer, bi-prop, mono-prop, pneumatic, hydraulic, or pyrotechnic systems.\n\nSupport definitions, coordination, and control of the functional and physical interfaces between the components within the propulsion system,\n\nDesign propulsion components to meet all subsystem design and performance criteria. Supports development of rationale needed to make sound technical decisions regarding component design and development\n\nSupport definition and performance of propulsion component qualification certification testing.\n\nLead or support engineers and technicians during hazardous and non-hazardous operations throughout the lifecycle of refurbishment, integration, and test (RIT), launch, and recovery operations for the ESG program.\n\nEvaluate fielded components to assure continued reliability and airworthiness.\n\nLead or support identification and management of propulsion risks, issues, and opportunities. Support development of executable mitigation and capture plans, develop cost and schedule impact estimates, update risk tracking system (e.g. BORIS), and communicate with propulsion RIO Control Board.\n\nDevelop and maintain Supplier Statement of Work (SSOW) pertaining to vehicle component development. Assure technical, customer, and regulatory requirements are met. Support Program and Supplier Management to development and follow plans for material procurement.\n\nConduct component failure investigations and non-conformance closures through Material Review Board (MRB) and other internal and customer boards. This includes component issues that emerge at the supplier or the vehicle production facility. Coordinate with Boeing Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other Integrated Product Team (IPT) members as needed to resolve issues.\n\nHost technical interchange meetings and component reviews including supplier requirements review (SRR), design reviews (PDR / CDR), acceptance reviews, test readiness reviews (TRR), production readiness reviews (PRR).\n\nReview supplier data requirement list (SDRL) items and engineering drawings to ensure design and requirement compliance.\n\nCoordinate work scope with other engineers.\n\nThis position is expected to be fully onsite at the Kennedy Space Center, FL.\n\nBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):\n\nAbility, after starting in the position, to get a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim or final U.S. Top Secret/SCI clearance post-start is required.\n\n3+ years, minimum, of related work experience.\n\nExperience in rocket propulsion.\n\nExperience with propulsion system components, interfaces, and their design or integration variables, within aerospace vehicles.\n\nExperience in systems design, systems analysis, or systems integration.\n\nWilling and able to travel up to 10% domestically.\n\nBachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.\n\nPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):\n\nActive TS/SCI.\n\nExperience working on propulsion systems to include cryogenic and pneumatic delivery systems.\n\nExperience in space, launch vehicle, or aircraft programs.\n\nExperience in NASA Space programs or a related Space or Defense program.\n\nKnowledge of fluid systems.\n\nTypical Education & Experience:\nEducation/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications.
