The Engineer possesses the skills to design, program and commission industrial projects using current technology. This includes system design, PLC programming, HMI programming, system commissioning and industrial communication network implementation. The Engineer will also participate in engineering design efforts and projects to maintain familiarity with current and new electrical designs. Often times the Engineer will need to work on the Production floor to understand and help the Production team, as well as traveling to assist Field Service Technicians during installations of, training on, and troubleshooting of active systems.\n\n*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *include the following. (Other duties may be assigned.)\n\n· Design control systems through interpretation of customer-supplied control descriptions, interviews with clients and owners, analysis of system mechanical requirements and any other means necessary to create a functional software design.\n\n· Write structured, well-documented, bug-free PLC code in any of the 5 IEC standard languages.\n\n· Design intuitive, easy-to-navigate, aesthetically pleasing HMI interfaces.\n\n· Program clean, professional looking interfaces on a variety of platforms.\n\n· Work with other project team members as needed to share programming responsibilities as required.\n\n· Design software to support thorough, systematic, in-house testing prior to on-site commissioning.\n\n· Provide on-site system commissioning support as required.\n\n· Maintain a current technical skill-set through any means necessary including reading, attending seminars, formal classroom training, project experience, etc.\n\n· Ability to quickly understand complex applications\n\n· Competent to expert level PLC programming skills in IEC standard programming languages\n\n· Competent oral and written communication skills\n\n· Available to take after hours phone calls to support RAM FS/Customers\n\n*QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, and/or EXPERIENCE: *\n\n· Degree (four-year college or ABET accredited university):\n\no Associate Electrical Engineer,\n\no B. S. Electrical Engineering Technology, or\n\no B. S. Control Systems Electrical Engineering, or\n\no B. S. Computer Science\n\n· At least one year of design experience is _preferred_\n\n· Passing FE exam or similar exam related to your field of expertise _preferred_\n\n*TRAVEL REQUIRED* (Up to 20+% of work time will be spent traveling): This position will require up to 20% travel time with 50+% of that being overseas. A current passport is required.\n\n*MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:* Ability to comprehend and apply principles of calculus, modern algebra, trigonometry, and statistical theory. Ability to work with concepts such as statics, mechanics of materials, kinematics, moments of inertia, centroids, design of experiments, probabilities, and standard deviation.\n\n*REASONING ABILITY:* Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,). Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. Ability to deal with inter-spatial relationships.\n\n*LANGUAGE SKILLS: *Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Applicant must have the ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals as well as be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and suppliers.\n\n*COMPUTER SKILLS: *Ability to use and a general understanding of Windows based operating systems.
