We have been recognized as a NorthCoast 99 \"Best Workplace\" winner for 10 consecutive years.\r\nBenefits\r\nWe cover 100% of your Healthcare benefits!\r\nFlexible Vacation to promote work-life balance.\r\n12 weeks of Paid Maternity Leave\r\nProfit Sharing\r\n401K matching contributions and earnings are always 100% vested.\r\nPlus, much more!\r\nResponsibilities\r\nSystems Administration & Support: Perform advanced support and troubleshooting for IBM AIX and enterprise Linux systems.\r\nManage LPAR configurations and troubleshoot HMC-managed Power Systems.\r\nMaintain high availability, performance, and reliability of customer environments.\r\nParticipate in an on-call rotation for escalated support outside normal business hours.\r\nPatch Management, Security & Recovery: Plan and implement OS patches, firmware updates, and security hardening; manage backups/restores and disaster recovery procedures; conduct regular vulnerability scans and remediation.\r\nSupport deployment and management of containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.\r\nWork with Linux-based VMs and virtualization technologies (KVM, VMware, PowerVM).\r\nMonitoring & Documentation: Proactively monitor system health and respond to incidents; maintain detailed documentation (procedures, configurations, runbooks).\r\nLog and track time spent on tasks for billing and workload visibility.\r\nAct as an L3 escalation point for junior engineers.\r\nCollaborate with internal teams and communicate directly with customers as needed.\r\nProvide root cause analysis, status reports, and contribute to continuous improvement.\r\nExperience\r\n8-10+ years of IBM AIX systems administration (vios, lpar, nim, hmc).\r\n10+ years supporting Linux environments (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu, or SUSE).\r\nExperience with HMC/LPAR troubleshooting.\r\nFamiliarity with on-call operations and support ticket workflows.\r\nTechnical Skills\r\nProficiency in shell scripting (Bash, Korn, etc.) and automation tools (Ansible, Python).\r\nStrong understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, storage (SAN/NAS), and backup tools.\r\nExperience with Kubernetes (highly desired) and Docker or similar container platforms (preferred).\r\nExperience in multi-tenant or MSP-style environments is a plus.\r\nSoft Skills\r\nSelf-motivated and able to manage tasks independently in a remote setting.\r\nStrong time management and documentation discipline.\r\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\r\nTeam-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.\r\nCertifications\r\nIBM Certified System Administrator – AIX\r\nCompTIA Security+ or equivalent\r\nOther\r\nRemote position with occasional travel (10–15%) for client or team meetings.\r\nParticipation in a rotating on-call schedule.\r\nMust have access to reliable high-speed internet and a secure working environment.\r\nEqual Opportunity\r\nPark Place Technologies is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D/V.\r\nIf you are a qualified individual with a disability or a disabled veteran, you may request a reasonable accommodation if you are unable or limited in your ability to access job openings or apply for a job on this site as a result of your disability.
