This critical leadership role will oversee all aspects of program financial reporting, contract accounting compliance, budgeting, forecasting, audit support, and internal controls across a diverse portfolio of government-funded programs.The Financial Controller will partner closely with executive leadership, program management, contracts, and operations teams to ensure financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and optimal financial performance. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in government contracting, federal acquisition regulations, cost accounting standards, and complex program financial management within a large-scale federal contracting environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead all accounting and financial operations for a significant portfolio of federal contracts, task orders, and programs.Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.Prepare and analyze program financial statements, variance analyses, and executive-level reporting packages.Develop and maintain financial dashboards, key performance indicators (KPIs), and program profitability analyses.Provide strategic financial guidance to program managers and executive leadership regarding contract performance and financial risks.Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) requirements, and other applicable government contracting regulations.Oversee indirect rate calculations, incurred cost submissions, forward pricing proposals, and cost pool management.Review contract funding, billing, revenue recognition, and project cost accounting activities.Ensure adherence to contract-specific requirements and government accounting standards.Support government audits, DCAA reviews, and customer financial inquiries.Lead annual budgeting and long-range planning processes for assigned program portfolio.Develop revenue, margin, cash flow, and indirect rate forecasts.Monitor program performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying opportunities for improved financial performance.Provide financial modeling and scenario analysis to support business decisions and contract pursuits.Partner with business development and capture teams to support pricing strategies and proposal development.Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting and program accounting activities.Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and corporate governance policies.Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting capabilities, and operational efficiencies.Lead implementation of accounting system enhancements and process automation initiatives.Establish best practices for program financial management across the organization.Manage, mentor, and develop a team of accounting and finance professionals.Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.Collaborate across finance, contracts, procurement, human resources, and program operations functions.Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on financial and compliance matters.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
