This position is full-time and will be based out of Niskayuna, NY with 20% hybrid flexibility. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION!\n\nResponsibilities\n\nWork within a project team environment to support construction projects at the Knolls Site.\n\nDevelop and define project scope with sponsors.\n\nWork with a project team to develop specifications, cost estimates, drawing reviews, and provide engineering support during construction phase for buildings and utility projects.\n\nOversee architectural engineering firms in developing concept designs, construction documents, and cost estimates.\n\nCoordinate and interact with facility staff and contractors.\n\nRequirements\n\nEducation & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering and 5 to 10+ years of relevant experience. 5 years experience for level II and 10+ for level III.\n\nCitizenship – To be considered, you MUST be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.\n\nClearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.\n\nExperience performing structural engineering tasks including the development of contract documents, calculations, and cost estimates.\n\nWorking knowledge of building codes and standards.\n\nExperience in construction administration (submittal review, RFI's, construction inspections, etc.).\n\nDesired Skills\n\nEIT certificate and or P.E. License.\n\nEngineering consulting experience.\n\nCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS\nGEM’s offered compensation is dependent on candidates’ education , qualifications , and relevant years of experience .
