Our family of talented and focused professionals enjoy PE Systems’ generous PTO and Holidays, great benefits and great pay.\r\nVoted Best Places to Work in Dayton since 2022!\r\nGeneral Function:\r\nProvide engineering support using DoD, Air Force, and industry engineering principles to improve the performance, reliability, and sustainment of current and future weapon systems.\r\nSupport airworthiness programs by applying MIL-HDBK-516C, Mechanical Systems Integrity Program (MECSIP), Critical Safety Item (CSI) management, and Air Force airworthiness policies.\r\nTranslate operational/user requirements into technical system requirements for design, development, testing, production, and deployment of weapon systems.\r\nPerform engineering analyses including technical assessments, trade studies, system concepts, technology evaluations, and corrective actions for supportability issues.\r\nSupport system safety engineering by conducting risk assessments, evaluating safety analyses, resolving hazards, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.\r\nDevelop engineering documentation including requirements documents, specifications, engineering plans, acquisition strategies, test plans, technology assessments, and milestone documentation.\r\nSupport program reviews and technical meetings such as SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, FCA, PCA, PMRs, TIMs, and other engineering working groups.\r\nAnalyze equipment and software deficiencies and assist in developing, integrating, testing, and implementing corrective solutions.\r\nEvaluate contractor engineering proposals including ECPs, CCPs, FAA bulletins, DMSMS issues, risk assessments, and engineering change recommendations.\r\nSupport program management activities by preparing engineering cost estimates, milestone packages, executive briefings, and technical staff summaries.\r\nEnsure Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) through Life Cycle Systems Engineering (LCSE) processes, baseline management, metrics tracking, and compliance reporting.\r\nImprove engineering processes by participating in Value Stream Mapping and AFSO21 continuous process improvement initiatives.\r\nManage configuration, data, and technical risk through configuration management, data management, environmental assessments, audits, and design reviews.\r\nProvide systems engineering support for aircraft development, integration, manufacturing, sustainment, certification, documentation, and configuration management.\r\nSupport specialized engineering disciplines including avionics, electrical, software, systems security, systems integration, flight systems, structures, communications/navigation, manufacturing, quality assurance, reliability, and maintainability.\r\nSupport certification and regulatory compliance including aircraft airworthiness, spectrum certification, CNS/ATM requirements, Information Assurance, cybersecurity, and security engineering.\r\nPerform reliability, maintainability, and quality engineering through FRACAS reviews, defect prevention, quality audits, manufacturing assessments, lifecycle cost analyses, and process improvement.\r\nConduct systems integration activities including architecture development, interoperability, risk management, technology maturation, interface management, human systems integration, and airworthiness certification support.\r\nSupport system safety programs by maintaining hazard tracking, participating in mishap investigations, evaluating safety documentation, reviewing modifications, supporting Configuration Control Boards, and ensuring compliance with MIL-STD-882.\r\nProvide specialized aircraft engineering support for programs such as C-17, Flight Systems, Structures, and UK Foreign Military Sales, including airworthiness, regulatory compliance, safety management, technical documentation, and coordination with U.S. and UK aviation authorities.\r\nQualifications:\r\nEducation/Certifications/Experience/Skills:\r\nMA/MS Degree with 10 years of directly related experience or BA/BS with 12 years of directly related experience or 15 years of directly related experience to this discipline.\r\nMust possess and maintain a government security clearance at theSecret\r\nMust be proficient in the use of Microsoft programs (including Excel, Word, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project).\r\nMust be able to perform all functional duties independently.\r\nMust be able to transport self to various facility sites, as required.
