This position supports experienced operators by assisting with the safe operation of trenching and excavation equipment, including preparation of work areas, basic equipment checks, and cleanup activities. The Operator Trainee will learn to follow site plans, read basic markings, and support trenching and rock excavation tasks under close supervision. Daily responsibilities include maintaining a clean and organized worksite, adhering to all safety protocols, performing basic equipment maintenance such as inspections and lubrication, and reporting any issues to supervisors. The role requires consistent communication with crew members, willingness to learn, and the ability to work in varying outdoor conditions on active construction sites.QualificationsInterest in learning heavy equipment operation and trenching or excavation practices in a construction environment.Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a crew, and communicate clearly with supervisors and team members.Commitment to safety, including the use of personal protective equipment and adherence to company and regulatory safety standards.Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather, stand for extended periods, lift and carry materials, and perform manual labor as needed.Reliable transportation to the Odessa, TX job site and willingness to work full-time schedules that may include overtime as project needs require.Previous experience in construction, oil & gas, utilities, or related fields is beneficial but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.High school diploma or equivalent preferred; valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record may be required for some assignments.Demonstrated punctuality, strong work ethic, and interest in building a long-term career in pipeline construction and excavation.
