This position will operate onsite at our customer's world-class engineering and manufacturing facility.\nThis is a full-time position with a full benefit package listed below that includes opportunities for professional growth, direct hire by our customers, and additional opportunities within our own organization.\nSenior Electrical Engineer\nThe Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and support of high voltage electrical systems used in heavy equipment and industrial applications. This role ensures systems are safe, reliable, and compliant with all applicable standards. The engineer will lead design efforts, support testing and troubleshooting, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality electrical solutions.\nResponsibilities\nDesign and document high voltage electrical systems, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and protection layouts.\nDevelop and maintain bills of materials and design documentation for electrical components.\nOversee installation, testing, and maintenance of motors, transformers, switchgear, and control panels.\nDiagnose and resolve electrical system issues to improve reliability and performance.\nEnsure all designs meet applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.\nManage projects from concept through completion, including planning, budgeting, and scheduling.\nCollaborate with mechanical, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure proper system integration.\nProvide technical guidance and support for commissioning and field troubleshooting activities.\nStay current with emerging technologies and best practices in high voltage system design.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.\n8+ years of experience in high voltage electrical system design for heavy equipment or industrial systems.\nProficiency with power distribution, grounding, and protection design.\nWorking knowledge of PLCs, CANbus, and control systems.\nFamiliarity with engineering tools such as Teamcenter, NX, and Medusa.\nStrong understanding of electrical codes and standards (NFPA, NEC, UL, ISO).\nDesired Attributes\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\nClear and effective communication across technical and non-technical teams.\nCommitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.\nAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities.\nAdaptable to both office and field environments.\nVisa sponsorship is NOT available for this position.\nPay Range: $90,000-$140,000 – Commensurate with experience\nAbout RFA Engineering\nRFA Engineering has provided product development and engineering services to industry leading customers since 1943. Our primary focus is the development of off highway equipment including agricultural, construction, mining, recreational, industrial, and special machines. Our work includes concept development, product design, documentation, problem-solving, simulation, optimization, and testing of components, systems and complete machines.
