In this role, you’ll support the entire systems engineering lifecycle—from requirements analysis and architecture design to testing, integration, and sustainment. Your contributions will ensure GEOINT systems are reliable, resilient, and aligned with evolving mission needs.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nPerform systems engineering tasks across all phases:\n\nRequirements analysis\n\nSolution and service architecture\n\nScheduling and integration\n\nReliability and resiliency engineering\n\nTesting, evaluation, and maintainability\n\nAnalyze and trace user and system requirements to architecture and design components\n\nReview and recommend improvements to cloud services, workflows, and scheduling systems\n\nDesign technical solutions based on emerging technologies and mission needs\n\nMentor junior engineers and support skills development in systems engineering\n\nTranslate mission and customer needs into capability requirements and solution designs\n\nSupport system integration efforts and ensure seamless implementation\n\nContribute to:\n\nAnalysis of Alternatives (AoAs)\n\nCourses of Action (CoAs)\n\nTrade studies and engineering assessments\n\nAssist with strategic planning, project management, performance engineering, risk management, and interface design\n\nEducation & Experience\n\nBachelor’s degree or higher in:\n\nSystems Engineering\n\nor a related technical/scientific field such as Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems\n\nor six plus (6+) years of relevant Systems Engineering experience in lieu of a degree\n\nMinimum of six (6) years of experience in government or industry in one or more of the following areas:\n\nDoD or Intelligence Community (IC) Acquisition Processes\n\nRequirements development processes\n\nPPBES (Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution System)\n\nSystems engineering of large, complex System of Systems (SoS) or Service‑Oriented Architecture (SOA)/Cloud environments\n\nDesired Qualifications\n\nTechnical Knowledge & Skills:\n\nWorking knowledge of Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), including related tools, languages, and methodologies\n\nFamiliarity with Software Development Frameworks\n\nWorking knowledge of one or more of the following domains:\n\nPhotogrammetry\n\nRemote sensing\n\nImage science\n\nInformation sciences\n\nGeographic Information Systems (GIS)\n\nGeomatics\n\nRelated geospatial fields\n\nINCOSE Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) certification\n\nDocumented work experience in the Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) field\n\nMembership or active participation in professional organizations such as:\n\nACSM (American Congress on Surveying and Mapping)\n\nASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers)\n\nASPRS (American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing)\n\nOGC (Open Geospatial Consortium)\n\nSAREM (Society for American Remote Earth Monitoring)\n\nUSGIF (United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation)\n\nMission Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of the current NSG, ASG, and NRO enterprises\n\nLocation\n\nSpringfield, VA\n\nThis position is onsite and there is no remote availability\n\nClearance Requirement\n\nActive TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph\n\nApplicant MUST hold a permanent U.S. citizenship for this position in accordance with government contract requirements.\n\nKavaliro provides Equal Employment Opportunities to all employees and applicants.
