AWS Direct Connect is currently available in more than 100 locations, which span nearly 70 cities in 30 different countries.\n\nKey job responsibilities\nAs a Network Development Engineer you will:\n\nSupport and maintain our next generation networks.\nDeliver simple, sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes.\nWork closely with our broader Network Engineering & Deployment teams to ensure operational readiness for new deployments.\nDrive standards across the network and ensure that we are fully compliant to those standards and policies.\nParticipate and drive impact mitigation during large-scale events utilizing an established Event Management process.\nDrive event deep dives for large-scale events, deliver high-quality documentation for the events and drive corrective actions to completion.\nImprove our detection mechanisms by designing and implementing new alerts.\nCreate and review documentation and process regarding recurring issues, new standard operating procedures, knowledge transfer material, etc.\nTroubleshoot interconnectivity issues, including troubleshooting of network device configuration and low level application interaction.\nIdentify and drive opportunities to repeatable tasks through creation and maintenance of scripts and tools.\n\nA day in the life\nWe work with internal partners to develop and implement the next gen platforms\nalong with the tooling ecosystems to support with these platforms driving efficiency and scalability\nthrough the automation of builds, configuration deployment, and the scaling of capacity. As our\nnetwork is one of the largest in the world, there is no blue print at our scale allowing our engineers to\ndevelop solutions to the complex challenges that we face daily.
