They should be able to concisely and accurately share knowledge with their teammates.\nABOUT THE ROLE: As a member of the data center engineering team design, build, and activate some of the world’s most technically advanced data center facilities. You will be the subject matter expert on thermal management, pumping, flow control, HVAC, and other critical fluid systems. You will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge, experience, and creativity to develop novel solutions at the cutting edge of data center and compute technology. This role involves design, analysis, testing, and manufacturing of data center systems and support elements. You will work with other engineering disciplines, construction managers, architects and internal customers to both identify needs and accomplish goals. The position is based in Memphis, TN.\nRESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for owning and being the subject matter expert on fluid/HVAC components across data center builds– chillers, pumps, dry coolers, chemical treatment, water storage, building pressurization, comfort heating/ cooling, heat exchangers, pumps, valves and systems.\nPerform CAD modeling and design of these systems. Deconflict your design with other disciplines in three dimensions.\nPerform fluid analyses for pressure balance, component design allowable, and consumables determination.\nCoordinate with procurement, construction and other disciplines to select, apply and procure equipment to your design that meets the timeline, cost profile and performance required for the build.\nWhen designing for internal manufacturing partners, ensure designs are manufacturable and reliable; work with the production team to ensure a smooth transition to a reliable manufacturing process that has minimal design engineering sustainment engineering required.\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.\n1+ years of professional experience working with various fluids components such as valves, pumps, COPVs, compressors, heat exchangers, pressure transducers, or temperature sensors.\nSENIOR LEVEL QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.\nPE License\n10+ years of professional experience working with various fluids components such as valves, pumps, COPVs, compressors, heat exchangers, pressure transducers, or temperature sensors.\nProven track record of effective management and leadership\nPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Professional Engineering licensure.\nConsulting experience in the data center market - AI specific experience preferred.\nHands‑on experience with fluid (liquid and/or gas) handling systems.\nExperience using data acquisition equipment, as well as test instrumentation and control components: pressure transducers, thermocouples, resistance temperature detectors, relays.\nExperience with HVAC systems and air ducting.\nExperienced in REVIT with a solid understanding and application of parametric design tools and software.\nAbility to work independently.\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed.\nSpaceXAI is an equal opportunity employer.
