This person will help plan, coordinate, and execute high-volume human-subject research studies involving hardware, prototypes, equipment, research participants, and multiple internal and external teams.This is a hands-on research operations and program management role. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing timelines, study logistics, approvals, staffing, equipment, vendors, participant scheduling, and research-site operations while partnering closely with UX Researchers and cross-functional stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport researchers in refining research objectives, timelines, deliverables, and study plans.Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure prototypes, materials, equipment, and other research resources are available on time.Support study setup and execution, including checklists and required safety/security approvals.Develop and document study procedures, operating instructions, and training materials.Partner with researchers to prepare and submit research plans for internal review.Coordinate multi-site research studies, including tracking study status, equipment, staffing, and data ingestion.Assist with participant recruitment, scheduling, and data collection.Coordinate Research Assistant assignments and support lab training for data collection.Communicate project status, risks, timelines, and deliverables to researchers, vendors, and stakeholders.Use internal tools to monitor incoming research data, identify upload issues, and troubleshoot operational errors.Coordinate equipment procurement with vendors and purchasing teams, including tracking and expediting approvals.Maintain hardware and software inventory across research sites and personnel.Prepare, distribute, and track testing devices and research equipment.Work with cross-functional teams to ensure research spaces and hardware meet study requirements.Manage third-party vendors supporting participant recruiting, data collection, documentation, and hardware purchases.Minimum Qualifications3+ years of project or program management experience.Bachelor's degree in Psychology, HCI, Human Factors, Cognitive Science, or a related field.Experience working directly with human subjects/research participants.Experience coordinating projects across multiple teams and shared resources.Experience with Google Workspace or equivalent productivity tools.Ability to quickly learn and work with new technologies, tools, and research equipment.Ability to understand technical information and communicate it effectively to non-technical audiences.Strong organizational, coordination, scheduling, and follow-through skills.Ability to manage multiple studies, stakeholders, deadlines, and operational dependencies simultaneously.Ability to travel between Seattle and Redmond as required.Preferred QualificationsExperience with hardware or biometric research equipment.Experience with 3D scanning, motion capture, EEG, eye tracking, physiological sensors, or wearable devices.Experience supporting UX research, human factors research, usability studies, or product research.Experience working with AR/VR, wearables, smart glasses, consumer electronics, or hardware products.Experience managing external research vendors and participant recruiting partners.Experience working in a research lab or research operations environment.Ideal CandidateThe strongest candidate will be a Research Program Manager, Research Operations Manager, UX Research Program Manager, Human Factors Program Manager, Research Coordinator, or similar professional who has hands-on experience running human-subject studies and coordinating the people, equipment, approvals, vendors, sites, and timelines required to execute research successfully.Benefits:BCforward offers all eligible employees a comprehensive benefits package including, but not limited to major medical, HSA, dental, vision, employer-provided group life, voluntary life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, and 401k.About BCforward:Founded in 1998 on the idea that industry leaders needed a professional service, and workforce management expert, to fuel the development and execution of core business and technology strategies, BCforward is a Black-owned firm providing unique solutions supporting value capture and digital product delivery needs for organizations around the world.
