Supplier Quality - Field Engineer Industry: Aerospace/Defense Location: Sylmar, California Duration: On-going Frequency: Avg 40 hrs per week (depending on workload) Compensation: $35/hr Third Party Experienced Quality Assurance Professional to Support Surveillance Activities: Witness Operation Instruction Requirements to Manufacturing Performance Job Description: The candidate must be dependable, professionally mature in an environment where the product is intellectual proprietary and the NDA is enforced. Third party visual observer who verifies operation instructions align to operator actions in a dynamic environment. The candidate must be able to adjust and capture multiple versions of instructions on the manufacturing floor with changes to instructions with little to no advance notice. Skill set required: Email Enter information into Microsoft Word and Excel Read and write English. Read Drawings Inspection Equipment/MSA Experience Preferred 3+ Years Manufacturing/Assembly Experience (Sub Assembly to Top Level PN WOs)/Acrylics Perferred Internal Audit Experience Initiative to Research Specifications and Comprehend Witten Specifications. Ability to Negotiate Interdependent Specifications. Fundamentals of MRB for Source Control Products Configuration Management Experience/Knowledge Requirements: Candidate must have practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on complex machined parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies. The inspections will be performed to engineering requirements specified per ANSI Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) or equivalent standard. Must have the ability to read / interpret engineering drawings and Purchase Orders (POs). The candidate must have experience using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers and calipers. Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance to the AS9102 standard and knowledge is required. Inspector will have a minimum of 5 years experience performing inspections in aerospace or military / defense manufacturing with proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel. Candidate should be computer savvy and own a laptop for this assignment.
