Assists EHS Specialist with duties that include, but not limited to data entry, analysis, and reports. Maintains a safety and healthy working environment for all employees and seeks to improve the environment in our local communities, while always promoting the highest levels of integrity, through a passion for EHS excellence, supported by common ownership and accountability; cost effective and proactive EHS programs; and community involvement. Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and supports the health and safety of our employees and customers by providing accurate and accessible safety information.\n\nEssential Responsibilities\n\nResponsible for managing, reviewing, and maintaining documents for all environmental aspects such as chemicals and hazardous materials used within the organization.\nExecute and/or up-dates Safety Rick Analysis (SRA/JSA) for all site positions and support corrective actions processes.\nMaintains required safety documentation and logs.\nPerform and assists in the collection, analysis, reports on investigations of occurrences, near misses, accidents and incidents.\nAssists the coordination of annual medical checks.\nAssists in the implementation of EHS training.\nAssists in Employee Safety Committee/First Responder Team (meetings and plan execution).\nAssists EHS documentation and record keeping.\nAssists EHS Department in related community affairs.\nConducts daily/weekly/monthly EHS inspections.\nInteracts with EHS suppliers, regulatory agencies, and Headquarters.\nAssists the coordination of Waste Management (Hazardous, Non Hazardous and Recycling).\nAssists in Industrial Hygiene and Medical Surveillance monitoring.\nAssists in the implementation of approved corrective actions derived from SRA/JSA.\nCompiles air emission data to ensure compliance with air regulations.\nResponsible for the Spill Containment Program.\nKeeps a record of storm water, spill prevention.\nAssists with the selection of the Initial PPE and implementation.\nAssist in the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) reorganization and restructuring.\nPerform Safety Data Sheet Assessment.\nDevelop and ensure fulfillment of all necessary local legal and other requirements.\nAdvise and support all local departments regarding Safety Data Sheet new process.\nCollect and perform analyses on the current process on suggest new internal process.\nOrganize and coordinate SDS facility measurements.\nReassign new names for SDS’s available in the internal folders according to new Central standards.\nTrain employees on the changes to the Safety Data Sheet Folder.\nAnalyze data from SDSs to identify potential hazards and recommend safety measures.\nGenerate regular reports on chemical inventory, usage, and safety compliance.\nFollows and actively participates in all the EHS practices and procedures\n\nOther Responsibilities\n\nMaintains working area clean and organized.\nComply and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, local and federal regulations.\nPerform other tasks and projects, as requested.\nEnsure adherence to compliance culture requirements.\n\nEducation, Skills and Competencies\n\nBachelor’s degree in environmental science or relevant training in related field.\nHave minimum 6 months or more of experience with EHS.\nDetailed knowledge of the relevant EHS legislation and regulations.\nGood communication skills.\nComputer literate.\nHave demonstrated and proven ability to work on one’s own initiative and operating under time pressure demands.\nGood analytical skills.\nHave good interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills and have proven track record.\nFluent in English (both written and spoken).\nFlexibility according to workload during the project phases.\nAbility to work independently.\nAbility to generate new ideas and identify potential for improvement within his working area.\n\nWorking conditions\n\nOffice environment. This job operates in a professional office environment.\nThis role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, fax, scanner and filing cabinets.\nCould often work more than 40 hours per week, including on evenings and weekends. Also usually travel often for work.\nThe workspace may range from a desk in an open layout cubicle or a private office.\nBeing a international company, there will be a linguistic diversity.\nThe temperature will be in a comfortable range.
