Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago\nJob Description\nK.S.A.'s:\nBachelor's degree in related field preferred.\nExperience in multi-cultural or health care setting, and experience with interpretation or translation preferred.\nSpanish language abilities and skills, written and verbal, required. Ability to interpret and translate medical and healthcare terminology from English to the second language.\nAbility to articulate and respond to cultural differences as related to healthcare issues.\nAbility to work in a highly regulated environment with multiple demands.\nJob Duties:\nIdentifies, assesses and responds to child/ family interpretation needs; understands that this occurs within the broader healthcare context and within the familial context of developmental needs, psychosocial needs, cultural needs and spiritual needs.\nProvides medical interpreting services and translation services for discharge instructions.\nCommunicates with members of the health care team to provide optimal services to patients and families.\nAdvocates for the language needs of families throughout the continuum of care.\nKeeps accurate stats of all patient encounters.\nAssists with triaging immediate interpreter needs and dispatching interpreters.\nPerforms job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.\nOther job functions as assigned.\n\nEducation\nBachelor's Degree\nPay Range\n$21.00-$32.55 Hourly\nAt Lurie Children’s, we are committed to competitive and fair compensation aligned with market rates and internal equity, reflecting individual contributions, experience, and expertise. The pay range for this job indicates minimum and maximum targets for the position. Ranges are regularly reviewed to stay aligned with market conditions.
