{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"24acdfd80458c8a34344caaa","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/24acdfd80458c8a34344caaa","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/24acdfd80458c8a34344caaa","title":"Counselor/Intermediate","description":"JOB STATUS:\nOPEN\n\nPOSTING DATE:\n03/03/2025\n\nPOSTING NUMBER:\n00048302\n\nLOCATION:\nAdmin Guidance & Counseling - 875\n\nPOSITION TITLE:\nCounselor/Intermediate\n\nJOB DESCRIPTION:\n\nImplement the District Development Guidance Plan responding to the unique needs of the individual student.\n\nDUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nDevelops a campus-level Counselor Action Plan based on identified school needs and the TEA Developmental Guidance plan.\n\nAssists individual students in demonstrating self-confidence in reaching educational goals.\n\nConfers with students, parents, and teachers when needed.\n\nConducts individual and group counseling.\n\nConducts small group counseling and/or guidance sessions for students.\n\nAssists with student classroom and program placement.\n\nServes as a resource for students, parents and staff members to access community resources.\n\nAssists with testing program when needed.\n\nAssists with coordination of grade level transition.\n\nAssists in the referral process and educational placement of students with special needs.\n\nProvides orientation sessions for parents and students.\n\nProvides college and career awareness activities.\n\nAdheres to time lines and procedures.\n\nMeets deadlines as established by the PEIMS/Technology departments for scheduling, grade reporting and pupil data information.\n\nMaintains calendar schedule of counselor activities.\n\nAttends required District in-service and staff meetings.\n\nMaintains student data records.\n\nServes on District Crisis Team.\n\nPlays active role in dropout prevention\n\nDemonstrates positive interpersonal relationships.\n\nCooperates with and supports faculty and staff.\n\nCoordinates and/or teaches anti-victimization and bullying programs.\n\nDemonstrates self-control and exhibits overall positive approach.\n\nPromotes positive self-image in students.\n\nTreats students consistently and empathetically.\n\nConducts and analyzes an annual needs assessment, and then implements programs based on the data.\n\nMaintains and improves professional competence through reading, course work, and professional activities.\n\nConsults with District Coordinator of Guidance and Counseling when necessary.\n\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nRegular attendance.\n\nMaintains confidentiality.\n\nEXPERIENCE:\n\nExperience working with students in an educational setting or with school-aged children\nExperience supporting students/school-aged children in crisis situations\n\nQUALIFICATIONS:\n\nEducation/Certification:\nMaster’s Degree\nProfessional school counselor’s certificate\nSpecial Knowledge/Skills:\nKnowledge of counseling procedures, student appraisal, and college and career awareness\nExcellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills\nAbility to instruct students to develop psychosocial skills\nAbility to instruct students per the TEA Comprehensive Guidance Program model\nKnowledge and experience in interpreting various testing instruments\nKnowledgeable about academic curriculum\nKnowledge/awareness of how to access community resources\n\nCONTACT INFORMATION:\n\nMental Demands/Physical Demands/Environment Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress.
