The engineer will also be responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet ALG objectives.\r\nThe network engineer will work with both the Systems Engineer, focusing on high-level design and planning to ensure maximum performance of a high traffic network infrastructure while maintaining system integrity. The engineer will oversee the local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and more depending on the network complexity of a practice location.\r\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, WAPs, Virtualization)\r\nPerform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations\r\nManage and monitor all installed systems, infrastructure performance and ensure system availability and reliability\r\nMonitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning\r\nProactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability\r\nMaintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies for all network equipment\r\nParticipate in the design of information and operational support systems\r\nProvide 2nd and 3rd level support and troubleshooting to resolve issues\r\nWork within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure\r\nWork with vendors, AASC Operations, and other IT personnel for problem resolution\r\nMaximizing network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimization\r\nUndertake data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments, using information from multiple sources\r\nSecure network systems by enforcing policies established policies from the CIO, and defining and monitoring access\r\nThe support and administration of firewall environments in line with IT security policy\r\nReport network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information and managing projects\r\nResponsible for\r\nconfiguration of routing and switching equipment\r\nconfiguration of hosted IP voice services\r\nbasic configuration of firewalls\r\nCapacity management and audit of IP addressing and hosted devices within data center\r\nLiaising with project management teams, third-line engineers and service desk engineers on a regular basis\r\nSpeaking with physicians and staff via email and phone for initial requirement capture\r\nQUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science\r\nMCSE, CCNP or proven experience\r\nDeep understanding of networking protocols and OSI or TCP/IP model\r\nHands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools\r\nProven experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation.\r\nProven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.\r\nCompetence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.\r\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Physical demands are moderate. Requires standing, walking, sitting, and kneeling for possibly extended periods of time. Occasional lifting of items weighing approximately 30 to 50 pounds. Vision and hearing must be correctable to normal range.
