Assistant General Counsel – Real Estate Development & Finance

A leading national owner/operator in the senior living and hospitality space seeks a business-minded Assistant General Counsel to support its real estate and development team on sophisticated, high-value transactions.This is a highly visible, transactional role offering the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership on complex, high-value projects across a growing platform. Local candidates highly preferred.Key Responsibilities:Advise on a broad range of real estate and development matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and joint venturesDraft and negotiate purchase agreements, LOIs, management agreements, and related commercial contractsOversee title/survey diligence and support deal execution from start to finishPartner with business teams to provide practical, solutions-oriented legal adviceSupport ongoing asset management and general corporate mattersQualifications:6+ years of strong experience with real estate transactions and financing structures; joint venture experience is a plus (position not appropriate for leasing expert)Demonstrated business judgment and ability to operate in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsPrior experience in senior living and/or the hospitality industry is a plusWhy This Role:Direct exposure to senior leadership and core business strategyGreat opportunity to transition in-house as a mid-level associateBroad, hands-on transactional practice with meaningful responsibilityCollegial, mission-driven culture within a well-established and growing organizationCompany rarely hires (this is a newly created role) and long tenure of OGC members
