This is an entry-level role for someone early in their networking career who is eager to learn and grow. You'll help build, operate, and maintain the networks that keep Aurora running — from corporate offices to third-party factories and Aurora Truck Terminal facilities. Working closely with senior network engineers, you'll support day-to-day network operations, assist with deployments, and develop your troubleshooting skills on real-world connectivity challenges at scale.\n\nIn this role you will\n\nSupport the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of network infrastructure (switches, routers, wireless access points, and firewalls) across Aurora's offices and facilities, under the guidance of senior engineers.\n\nBuild foundational knowledge of enterprise network security practices, such as 802.1X and ClearPass Policy Manager (or equivalent NAC solutions).\n\nAssist in monitoring network health and performance, responding to alerts, and helping triage and resolve connectivity issues.\n\nHelp maintain LAN, WLAN, and VPN environments, and support basic changes to routing, switching, and VLAN configurations.\n\nContribute to network documentation, including diagrams, IP address management (IPAM), and standard operating procedures.\n\nAssist with basic automation of repetitive network tasks using scripting (e.g., Python) to improve efficiency and consistency.\n\nPartner with IT, Security, and other engineering teams to support network-related projects, escalating complex issues to senior engineers as needed.\n\nLearn and apply networking best practices, security standards, and Aurora's operational processes as you grow in the role.\n\nRequired qualifications\n\n0–2 years of experience in networking, IT, or a related technical field (internships, co-ops, or relevant academic projects count).\n\nFoundational understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, subnetting, routing, and switching.\n\nFamiliarity with common network hardware (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points).\n\nBasic scripting or automation exposure (e.g., Python) or a strong willingness to learn.\n\nA strong troubleshooting mindset, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn.\n\nGood communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.\n\nDesirable qualifications\n\nRelevant certifications or coursework in progress or completed (e.g., Cisco CCNA, Juniper JNCIA, JNCIA-DevOps).\n\nExposure to network monitoring tools (e.g., LibreNMS, Nautobot, TIG stack, or similar).\n\nFamiliarity with cloud networking concepts on a major platform (e.g., AWS, GCP).\n\nExposure to wireless networking, VPNs, or firewall administration.\n\nInterest in network automation, Infrastructure as Code, or version control (e.g., GitHub, Spacelift).\n\nFor roles based in Mountain View, CA and Seattle, WA: The salary range for this position is $88,000 - $121,000 per year.\n\nFor roles based in Pittsburgh, PA: The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $109,000 per year.\n\nAurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
