The Sofidel Group has subsidiaries in 12 countries – Italy, Spain, the UK, France, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Poland, Hungary, Greece, Romania, and the U.S. - with more than 7,144 employees.\nSchedule: 2-2-3, 12 hour shift, rotating every 2 weeks, 6 to 6.\nRewinder Assistant (4th Hand)\nSCOPE:\nPerform functions, assisting the rewinder leader & machine tender, to ensure safe, efficient, and productive operation of the paper mill and identify and resolve operating and equipment issues guided by precedent and working within the limits of established policies. Continuously supports Sofidel’s Employee Personal Practice Policy.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nSupports Sofidel America’s Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP to promote a safe, sanitary and hygienically sound workplace.\nWork from written and verbal instructions as well as production schedule.\nOversee the function of the rewinder, with a priority focus on loading reels, cores, and other consumables.\nConduct prescribed tests to ensure the quality of products. Document test results and inform rewinder leader and supervisor if paper quality falls outside established quality standards.\nPrepare the parent reel from the paper machine for insertion into the unwind stands, threading the winder, and operation of the paper mill crane. Coordinate with the warehouse crew to direct rolls from the rewinder into the warehouse.\nCoordinate with the Rewinder Leader to perform service functions on the rewinder. Monitor computer display of machine functioning, back up the Rewinder Leader as needed.\nPerform first level maintenance on machine as necessary to ensure optimal machine operation.\nMay operate clamp truck to move and process poly wrap, cores, and consumables for the winder. May also perform forklift duties as directed by the Paper Machine Leader (machine tender).\nAssist with housekeeping duties and maintain the organization and cleanliness of the facility. Including clearing paper breaks from the rewinder.\nLearn and receive qualification for next job in line of progression on machine.\nOTHER DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:\nPerform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements. Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.\nMaintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules keeping work area in a clean and orderly condition.\nParticipate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nTOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:\nClamp truck, hoist, wrapper, hand tools, test devices and computerized machine controls.\nEducation/Experience:\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training.\nLanguage Ability:\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and quality and procedure manuals.
