We want someone who understands why performance,\nobservability, and clean design patterns matter—and who thrives in environments where delivery speed and code quality go hand in hand.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign and develop robust, testable Java services using Spring Boot and RESTful APIs, integrating with secure cloud-based systems.\nArchitect backend components to support real-time applications, asynchronous workflows, and data-rich transactions.\nLead or contribute to service-level design decisions, schema modeling, dependency management, and system health monitoring.\nOptimize performance through effective use of logging, caching, multi-threading, and error-handling strategies.\nCollaborate cross-functionally with React developers, DevOps, and QA engineers to deliver full-stack solutions.\nIntegrate AWS services such as ECS, SecretManager, PostgresSQL\nParticipate in Agile ceremonies, peer code reviews, technical planning sessions, and architecture discussions.\nTravel to client sites across the U.S. and Canada to support system rollouts, troubleshoot deployment issues, and represent the engineering team as needed.\nMinimum Qualifications\n2+ years of hands-on professional experience in backend software development with Java and Spring Boot.\nStrong experience or skillset with: REST API development, Relational (e.g., PostgreSQL), AWS services like S3, and EC2 or Lambda\nSolid grasp of OOP principles, design patterns, and system modularity.\nExperience in CI/CD workflows, Git, and Agile methodologies.\nAbility to independently own, troubleshoot, and enhance production services in secure environments.\nExcellent communication and technical documentation skills.\nBonus Points For\nFamiliarity with: Message queues, event-driven architectures, or pub/sub systems, Authentication/authorization strategies (e.g., JWT, OAuth2), Monitoring and logging tools and Visualization (e.g., Grafana, micrometer)\nFull-stack experience with React, Express, or other front-end frameworks\nExperience in highly regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance, government)\nWho You Are\nYou think in systems and write code that others can read, reuse, and scale.\nYou’re comfortable making architectural suggestions—and backing them up.\nYou approach projects holistically, not just from the standpoint of what you’re coding.\nYou take initiative when specs are unclear and aren’t afraid to ask the right questions.\nYou care about security, reliability, and what happens after your code hits production.\nWork Environment\nThis is a strictly on-site role based in Buffalo, NY.\nRegular travel throughout the U.S., with occasional visits to Canada, is expected.\nNo remote or hybrid options available.\nJob Type: Full-time\nPay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year\nApplication Question(s):\nWhat is Your Work Authorization(H1B, GC, Citizenship, etc.)?
