Onsite 3 days/week Duration: 12 months with possibility for extension Terms: W2 position Candidate location: Candidate MUST be a SC resident or willing to relocate to SC prior to starting the role Position summary:The SQL Database Administrator and Senior Developer will design, develop and support enterprise scale web applications in the Child Support Applications group under the Social Services department.You will be responsible for developing applications and database integrations using the Microsoft SQL Server platform. This will include reports, vendor exports, data warehousing tasks and other data related tasks.The ideal candidate will take initiative in performance, working independently and with groups to effectively accomplish project objectives and job duties. Required skills:5+ years of experience as a SQL DBA5+ years of large system architectureLarge scale production system implementation experienceExperience overseeing work of Software Development VendorsMS SQL ServerTFS (Team Foundation Server)Microsoft Visual Studio 2022C#, ASP.net, and/or .NETPowerShell Preferred: Experience with Child Support Enforcement system design and developmentExperience with PowerBI Additional skills:Proven abilities to plan, organize, instruct, and review the work of the development team.Knowledge of generally accepted system architecture, project management and supervision principles and practices.Ability to communicate (orally and written) effectively with technical, non-technical staff, customers/stakeholders (state and Federal) and executives.Ability to communicate effectively with Agency and other state information technology staff. Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Responsibilities:Identifying, extracting and transforming required data based on business requirements and following data governance standardsPerforming detailed data analysis and data profiling supporting the development and implementation of data cleansing/create processes and other strategies that optimize data qualityUnderstanding performance, quality, and schedule considerationsInterpreting complex data and communicating it in an effective manner, leveraging advanced reporting techniquesRecognizing data patterns, quantifying potential issues, and identifying solutionsStandardizing, harmonizing, cleaning, preparing, and using data for datasets development, reporting, and analysisProviding support to the project team in terms of technical specification and build of interface objectsLead efforts to design, test and validate system interfacesWork with state (agency IT staff) and Federal partners to design, test and implement interface files and procedures for data exchangeInspect and correct, as necessary, interface partner files in productionServe as primary contact for any interface production file issues during nightly batch process, monitors batch process for errorsAct as liaison between Child Support team and interface partnersPerform code, technical and logical reviewsMonitor database growth trends and recommend normalization strategies and maintenance improvements to ensure long-term performance and scalabilityDesign, develop and manage data analysis reports using Microsoft PowerBI platformServe as primary DBA for Child Support related applicationsParticipate in the monitoring, oversight and reporting on the execution of the System Development Contractor's performance as it relates to development, daily operations activities including batch and online performance.Developing and maintaining enterprise data authoritative ownership and stewardship metadataCommunicating and supporting the implementation of corporate policies, standards, and procedures that provide effective architecture, governance, and management of the organization's information/data assetsDeveloping and maintaining effective and efficient information architecture and data ownership awareness and training programsMonitoring regulatory and compliance guidelines (such as data retention and audit requirements) to determine impact on enterprise information architecture Interested?
