This role is built for someone who leads with data — using advanced SQL and analytics to drive decisions, resolve ambiguity, and surface system behavior that others miss. You'll partner closely internally with Engineering, Accounting, Finance, and Bank Partnerships and externally with our bank partners, serving as the analytical backbone of complex payment investigations and implementations.\n\nThe base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $130,000.00 and up to $180,000.00. Full‑time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.\n\nIn this role you can expect to\n\nSupport complex processor implementations, migrations, and platform changes, ensuring operational readiness and clean handoff to steady‑state owners — with data validation at every stage.\n\nWrite sophisticated SQL queries to investigate transaction anomalies, support reconciliation research, and surface root causes across large, multi‑rail datasets in Snowflake.\n\nServe as a subject matter expert on ChimeCore payment flows, transaction lifecycles, and data models — and translate that expertise into clear, queryable logic others can rely on.\n\nCollaborate with bank partners and engineering on funds flow, reporting, and transaction investigations — bringing structured analysis and proposed resolutions, not just problem statements.\n\nSupport Accounting, Audit, Risk, and Finance by interpreting platform behavior and transaction data to aid investigations and reporting.\n\nParticipate in incident response and escalations by driving investigation, proposing hypotheses, and supporting remediation, with accountability shared across owning teams.\n\nDefine expected versus anomalous processor behavior and contribute to the design of monitors and alerts in partnership with Engineering and Processor Operations.\n\nPerform advanced data analysis and SQL-based investigations to support reconciliation research root‑cause analysis and be able to articulate the findings to a broader audience.\n\nAct as a trusted analytical advisor to Implementation and Reconciliation Managers, providing implementation context grounded in data.\n\nTo thrive in this role, you have\n\n6+ years in bank and/or payment operations with a broad understanding of operations; including accounting, funds flow, settlement, processing, etc.\n\nExpert‑level SQL skills — you write complex, optimized queries from scratch and are comfortable independently investigating large transactional datasets. Experience in Snowflake strongly preferred.\n\nStrong reconciliation knowledge and background.\n\nAn understanding of the end-to-end payments ecosystem, including payment methods, card networks, issuer processing, and the regulatory environment.\n\nAn understanding of ACH originations, returns, settlements and everything in between; AAP certification is a huge plus.\n\nFamiliarity with network operations including Visa, Mastercard, PLUS, and Star, as well as with network vendors that facilitate AFT/OCT payments and other forms of card‑based money movement.\n\nExperience working cross functionally with Product, Accounting, Compliance, Legal, Risk & Engineering to identify, evaluate and size opportunities and prioritize work.\n\nExperience driving continuous improvement projects, where you’ve applied deep knowledge to uncover and execute both short‑term and long‑term optimizations.\n\nA member‑obsessed mindset, eager to learn and improve the user experience.\n\nA curious and creative problem‑solving ability — can facilitate resolution of issues in a timely manner by working cross‑functionally with product and engineering teams.\n\nExcellent business acumen, communication skills and a self‑starting attitude.\n\nWhat we offer for our full-time, regular employees\n\nOur in‑office work policy is designed to keep you connected — with four days a week in the office and Fridays from home for those near one of our offices, plus team and company‑wide events depending on location.
