{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"23c2e01a21832e3985e71f50","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/23c2e01a21832e3985e71f50","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/23c2e01a21832e3985e71f50","title":"Code Inspector","description":"Posted 5 days ago | Apply before June 29, 2026\n\nDescription\nWe are currently looking for a Full Time Code Inspector to join our Code Inspection Unit team located at the Abbott Miller Bldg.\n\nSummary: Ensures that all building erections, additions, alterations, repairs, remodeling or demolitions and all installations of building systems meet code requirements including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, building and fuel gas.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nPerforms on-site inspections of new, existing, commercial, residential and NAHASDA housing facilities to verify compliance with the International Building Code.\n\nIssues notices of violations and corrections needed to maintain compliance with the International Building Codes.\n\nAssures quality materials are installed on all projects.\n\nEnforces licensing laws pertaining to each trade.\n\nEstablishes and maintains appropriate files for each job site and inspection.\n\nProvides first class customer service to both internal and external customers and responds to inquiries, compliments, and/or complaints with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency.\n\nCompletes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities.\n\nWorks in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types.\n\nMaintains a clean, organized work area and ensures a safe environment.\n\nMaintains and promotes professionalism.\n\nPunctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics.\n\nAdheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards.\n\nMaintains knowledge of and follows all rules, regulations, policies and guidelines for the assigned area.\n\nPerforms all other duties as assigned.\n\nCompetencies – Essential\n\nAbility to follow and interpret carpentry instructions and specifications such as blueprints, manuals, sketches and work orders.\n\nAbility to be flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations.\n\nMust be able to read, understand, apply and retain knowledge of departmental rules, regulations, and policies.\n\nAbility to assume responsibility and ownership.\n\nAble to follow instructions, both written and oral.\n\nAble to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements.\n\nHonesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability.\n\nAble to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines.\n\nDemonstrates effective oral and written communication.\n\nKnowledge of all building and construction codes as well as the associated standards.\n\nKnowledge of computer programs in order to retrieve, update, and keep accurate details concerning construction projects and inspection results.\n\nExcellent leadership and communication skills.\n\nExercises initiative in a variety of work-related situations.\n\nAble to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management.\n\nExperience\nNonessential: 5 years directly related experience.\n\nEducation\n\nEssential: Associate’s Degree in a directly related field.\n\nPreferred: Associate degree in construction management or related field with 5+ years experience as a contractor, engineer, architect, or construction superintendent, or equivalent combination of training and experience.\n\nCredentials – Essential\n\nPass general background check.\n\nBuilding Inspection Certification.\n\nElectrical Inspection Certification.\n\nMechanical Inspection Certification.\n\nInternational Code Council Certification.\n\nStandard Driver’s License.\n\nPass gaming background check.\n\nGaming license or permit as required by assigned position.\n\nWorking Conditions – Essential\n\nConstantly bend, kneel, stoop, push, reach.\n\nFrequently climb stairs.\n\nConstantly lift and/or carry over 50 lbs.\n\nStanding up to 75% of shift.\n\nSitting up to 100% of shift.\n\nWalking up to 100% of shift.\n\nConstruction site.\n\nHard hat required.\n\nNoisy environment.\n\nOutside, all weather conditions.\n\nPass pre-employment drug test.\n\nTraining\nIt is the responsibility of each employee to attend required training for their position or profession as determined by their line of support (LOS) or the leadership of the Chickasaw Nation.
