NTT faculty are located on one of the five CON campus sites (Bozeman, Billings, Great Falls, Kalispell, and Missoula) and participate in all aspects of the faculty teaching role. NTT faculty contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and continuous quality improvement. NTT faculty serve the Mark and Robyn Jones College of Nursing primarily in the teaching mission. Positions are non-tenurable. NTT faculty teach classes depending upon need and available funding.We seek individuals who embrace excellence, innovation, and inclusion in nursing education; are committed to serving the needs of diverse and rural students; and are dedicated to improving the health of Montanans by preparing tomorrow's nursing workforce. NTT faculty teach undergraduate and/or graduate nursing courses using multiple teaching strategies including in-person active learning pedagogies, simulation learning, online, distance-delivered, and clinical instruction.Applications are accepted on a continual basis and will be maintained in the NTT pool for two years. After two years, candidates will be notified to re-submit materials for continued consideration.The NTT search committee reviews and evaluates submitted application materials. Applicants will be notified if their application is being retained in the NTT faculty hiring pool.Appointments are on a part-time basis and vary in duration (e.g., partial semester, full semester, academic year) depending on the specific needs of the department/program. NTT faculty teach undergraduate and/or graduate nursing courses using multiple teaching strategies including in-person active learning pedagogies, simulation learning, online, distance-delivered, and/or clinical instruction.NTT faculty members of the Mark and Robyn Jones College of Nursing are expected to engage in service or outreach in addition to teaching. Each faculty member's relative emphasis on service or outreach is individually determined to serve the mission and responsibilities of the college and campus and to best utilize the strengths and interests of that faculty member, while recognizing the available resources of the College.Faculty members are expected to maintain a continuous program of professional development that includes attendance and participation at professional meetings and keeping current with the literature in their discipline.The College's five-campus system requires faculty members to travel among the five campuses for faculty meetings. Full time faculty (> .50 FTE) are required to travel to Bozeman at least two times per year for college-wide, general faculty meetings. Faculty members must also travel to clinical agencies where teaching, service or outreach occurs.While functioning in the teaching role in clinical agencies, faculty members must meet all health standards set forth by that particular agency and, at a minimum, meet communicable disease control standards per College policies.Each faculty member must meet and abide by all requirements for the practice of professional nursing for the State of Montana as set forth by the State Board of Nursing Rules and Regulations.In addition, faculty members are governed by University and Mark and Robyn Jones College of Nursing policies and procedures, general professional nursing standards, and the specific requirements of clinical agencies in which they conduct teaching or service activities.Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & SkillsUnencumbered RN license to practice Nursing in Montana.BSN or Master's degree in Nursing.To teach in DNP program, APRN license to practice in Montana and hold current certification as an Advanced Practice RN in the area of Psychiatric Mental Health or Family Nurse Practitioner.Successful work experience in nursing.Demonstrated clinical competence in the area of teaching interest.Demonstrated ability working in a collegial team environment.Demonstrated experience effectively using information technology to prepare and present instructional materials.Demonstrated experience working with and engaging diverse students and colleagues within and outside the department.Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & SkillsFor teaching in the DNP program, earned DNP degree in nursing.For teaching in the BSN program, earned Master's degree in nursing.Experience teaching college and/or adult learners.Use of technology beyond basic computer skills.Use of simulation technology for teaching-learning.Demonstrated commitment to student, faculty, and staff diversity.The Successful Candidate WillDemonstrate a commitment to nursing education.Have effective interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate successfully with faculty, staff, and clinical agency partners to support student success.Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.Be skilled in utilizing engaging pedagogy that involves students in the learning process and embraces educational innovations.Take initiative and work well independently.Work productively in team-oriented environments.Maintain confidentiality of student and patient records and information.Represent both the Mark and Robyn Jones College of Nursing and the University and, thus, act in a manner which reflects positively on the College and the University at all times.Be dedicated to supporting and enhancing Montana State University's initiative for diversity, equity and inclusiveness.Position Special Requirements/Additional InformationThe position for which you have applied MAY BE a Union position. MSU CON is accredited by CCNE.The baccalaureate program can be completed on any of the College's five campus locations (Bozeman, Billings, Great Falls, Kalispell or Missoula). The Traditional BSN program admits 224 students annually. The Accelerated BSN program admits 48 students annually. Completion rates for both programs are consistently > 90%. MSU Mark and Robyn Jones College of Nursing NCLEX ­- RN first time test taker pass rates historically have exceeded state and national rates. The Mark and Robyn Jones College of Nursing has also earned national recognition for excellence in its program that supports the recruitment and success of Native American nursing students, CO-OP (Caring for Our Own Program).The graduate program offers two degrees. The Master of Nursing (MN) focuses on clinical nurse leadership. Graduates are prepared to sit for the CNL certification exam. The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree has two options preparing students to take national certification exams as either Family Nurse Practitioners (FNP) or Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP). Students may enter post-BSN or post-MN. The graduate program is delivered by distance via web-based or web-enhanced courses, teleconference, and internet video conferencing. Face-to-face classes are held in Bozeman once each year.
