This role combines technical leadership, project execution, and client relationship management. The Project Manager will guide multidisciplinary teams, ensure financial and engineering excellence, and contribute to ongoing business development efforts.This position is ideal for a seasoned structural engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment, values accountability, and takes pride in delivering practical, high-quality solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership & DeliveryLead and manage structural engineering projects from proposal through completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable codes and client requirementsServe as Lead Engineer on assigned projects, including self-performed work and projects secured by othersOversee and mentor Project Engineers and Design Engineers, delegating tasks based on expertise, workload, and project needsPrepare, review, and approve redline drawing markups and ensure accurate implementation by drafting teamsConduct risk assessments, proactively identify issues, and recommend mitigation strategies to managementClient & Stakeholder EngagementAct as the primary liaison between internal teams, clients, vendors, and other project stakeholdersAddress client questions and concerns throughout the project lifecycle with professionalism and responsivenessEstablish, maintain, and strengthen long-term client relationships to support repeat business and client satisfactionAssist in securing new project work through proposals and business development effortsFinancial & Contract ManagementDevelop, manage, and track project budgets in alignment with contracted feesConduct cost analyses and prepare project estimates for proposalsMaintain accurate project accounting records and contracted fee data in company systemsReview and approve client invoices and assist with the collection of aged accounts receivableCoordinate submission and review of contracts, subconsultant agreements, purchase orders, lien waivers, and NDAsDemonstrate working knowledge of contract language and potential legal or financial risksQuality, Compliance & DocumentationEnsure all projects comply with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company standardsPrepare and submit complete drawings and calculations for internal quality control reviewsRespond to QA/QC feedback and implement revisions in accordance with established proceduresMaintain organized and compliant electronic and hard-copy project filesLeadership, Mentorship & Professional DevelopmentMentor engineers to support technical growth, efficiency, and career developmentProvide constructive performance feedback to team membersCollaborate with management, marketing, and business development teams to support company growthParticipate in continuing education, professional organizations, and networking activitiesMaintain required professional development hours for licensureGeneral ExpectationsDemonstrate a positive, accountable, and team-oriented attitudeComply with all company policies and proceduresPerform additional duties as assigned to support organizational objectivesQualifications & ExperienceEducation & LicensureBachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering (structural emphasis), or a closely related field (required)Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) licensure (preferred)Experience8 15 years of progressive structural engineering experience preferredProven experience leading projects, managing budgets, and mentoring technical teamsTechnical & Professional SkillsStrong proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA-3D, RAM, TEDDS, or similar toolsAbility to produce clear, organized, and legible hand calculationsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or comparable project documentation toolsExceptional budgeting, cost control, and financial management skillsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilitiesExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsDemonstrated leadership, organizational skills, and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentWhy This OpportunityThis role offers the opportunity to lead meaningful projects, influence technical outcomes, and build lasting client relationships while working within a collaborative, growth-oriented organization.
