Journey House Behavioral Health RVA (JHBHRVA) is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) or Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner (LSATP) to serve as Clinical Director for our outpatient substance use treatment programs. This leadership role provides clinical oversight for ASAM Level 2.5 Partial Hospitalization (PHP), ASAM Level 2.1 Intensive Outpatient (IOP) services, and Peer Recovery Support Services (PRSS) ensuring high-quality care and compliance with Virginia DBHDS regulations and Medicaid regulations and requirements. The Clinical Director works collaboratively with the Leadership Team to support clinical integrity, staff development, and program quality. Our current Clinical Director plans to transition out of the role over the coming months and will provide onboarding support and training to ensure a smooth leadership transition. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Clinical Oversight Provide clinical leadership for outpatient behavioral health programs including:Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) – ASAM Level 2.5Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) – ASAM Level 2.1Peer Recovery Support Services (PRSS) Ensure clinical services align with:ASAM criteriaDBHDS licensing regulationsMedicaid documentation requirementsAny current accrediting bodies Lead clinical team meetings and case consultations. Provide guidance on complex clinical cases and treatment planning. Clinical Supervision Provide supervision for clinical staff including:Licensed cliniciansPre-licensed cliniciansCSAC/CSAC-Supervisees (Certified Substance Abuse Counselor)Registered Peer Recovery Support Specialists (RPRS)Interns Support professional development and maintain required supervision documentation. Compliance & Quality Assurance Oversee clinical documentation including:Diagnostic evaluationsASAM assessmentsService authorization requestsIndividualized service plansProgress notesDischarge summaries Participate in chart reviews and quality improvement activities. Ensure compliance with DBHDS regulations and internal policies. Collaboration Work closely with:CEOProgram DirectorFinance DirectorManagementMedical providersCommunity partners Support coordination of care for individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. EDUCATION: Required: Master's Degree Field: Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related behavioral health field REQUIRED Active Virginia licensure as one of the following:LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor)LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker)LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist)LCP (Licensed Clinical Psychologist)LSATP (Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner) Master's degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field. Minimum 5 years clinical experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE Behavioral Health Clinical Experience: 3-5 years (Preferred) Substance Use Treatment Experience: 3 years (Preferred) Supervisory Experience: 1 year (Preferred) License/Certification:LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LCP, or LSATP (Required) Work Location: In person
