In this role, you will report to the Production Manager for the Optical Filters Business Unit.\r\nYou Will Make an Impact By:\r\nAssembling, installing and aligning optical components in various optical systems, e.g., collimators, telescopes, variable cells which contain optics\r\nApplying some engineering principles, as well as optical knowledge and skills, in the production of the end product\r\nProducing technically complex opto-mechanical assemblies, subsystems, and instruments which meet specification requirements\r\nWorking from drawings and optical data sheets on any assemblies, making any necessary set-ups for adjusting, assembling, testing, and using test instruments (including interferometers)\r\nUsing various bonding techniques involving the bonding of metal to metal, glass to glass and metal to glass\r\nUsing various measuring tools, e.g., indicators, micrometers, dial indicators, depth micrometer, etc.\r\nNo travel is required.\r\nSkills You Bring:\r\n1+ year of related experience required\r\nRequires production experience with vocational instruction in opto-mechanical assembly, reading, writing, and arithmetic skills, ability to work from established drawings and optical data sheets and experience with measuring tools\r\nPhysical Demands and Working Conditions:\r\nPerform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time\r\nRegularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination\r\nOccasionally moves/positions objects up to 25 pounds\r\nAbility to remain in a stationary position for 75% of the time\r\nFrequently positions self to perform tasks and positions objects below, at, and above shoulder level\r\nRegularly requires manual dexterity and coordination of objects below, at and above shoulder level\r\nMust be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand\r\nMust be able to exchange accurate information\r\nOperates in a [professional office and/or laboratory/manufacturing] environment\r\nConstantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery\r\nAbility to observe documents and details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)\r\nDedication to safety to mitigate hazards including handling mechanical and electrical hardware, high voltage, gas, water, and heat\r\nNoise level in the work environment is usually average\r\nCompensation and Benefits:\r\nPay Range: $16.70 - 27.83 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.
