Advanced Service Technician
Advanced Service Technician Arapahoe Location - Arapahoe, NEPurpose Independently performs advanced diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager or Shop Foreman.Responsibilities Performs advanced diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipment and established Ag Management Solutions (AMS) productsParticipates in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledgeMentors Service Technician traineesConducts or supports customer clinicsMaintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive productsMaintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipmentMaintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashionFollows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignmentsCompletes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignmentsAccounts for all time and all material used in performing assigned dutiesPerforms diagnosis and repair in the fieldQualifications Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge 3+ years experience performing service repairsAbility to perform advanced repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures on machines of the Technician's specialtyAdvanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipmentExcellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposesAbility to use Service Advisor and basic computer functionsAbility to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedlyAdvanced Service Technician certification preferredHigh School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferredValid driver's license required; CDL (Commercial Driver's License) and fork lift license preferredPhysical Requirements The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. This role requires the ability to stand, walk, and remain in stationary positions for extended periods, frequently use hands and arms to operate tools and equipment, and perform repetitive motions. The position involves regularly lifting up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds, as well as bending, kneeling, crouching, and working in various positions, including overhead. Strong visual ability and the safe operation of tools and machinery are essential, along with regular communication via telephone and email.
