To be considered for this position, you MUST have an ACTIVE Clearance Level of Top Secret/SCIPosition Code: 07-NE0407-3Location: Tysons or WarrentonJob DescriptionThe Network Engineer will be responsible to design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructures. This role requires deep technical expertise in networking technologies, including routing, switching, and network security controls. The ideal candidate is a technical practitioner, not just an advisor – someone who can design, implement, and troubleshoot complex network architectures and familiar with the customer’s enterprise networks to include Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN), and routing protocols. The ideal candidate must have the professional connection to the customer’s enterprise networks (DDI/ITE/GIO) and familiar with the Cisco ACI technology.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experienceMinimum ten (10) years of relevant experience (additional experience may be substituted for a degree) with architecting and designing IP networks and associated technologiesRequired Knowledge/SkillsIn-depth understanding of networking to include routing, switching, network monitoring and managementStrong troubleshooting skills specific to network connectivity, security, and ability to effectively work in cross functional teams as needed to resolve issuesExpert for SDN engagements built around Cisco ACIBackground in Cisco ACI design, planning, implementation, and testing, based on a multi data center configurationsGood team and collaboration skillsAbility to research and find new and innovative technologies to enhance the existing networkDefine network strategy with respect to technology domain standards and design goalsProvide technical design and architectural leadership, including documenting and diagramming the logical, physical and process viewsExperience analyzing network traffic, using a variety of network tools to assess security-related events to assist in rapid identification and isolation of issues during incidents and outagesExperience in designing, configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting these various network technologies and protocolsExperience designing, deploying, and maintaining boundary security solutions and exposure to enterprise network architectureGood knowledge and hands-on experience with VXLAN/EVPNDesired Knowledge/SkillsExperience with Network Access Control and SegmentationExperience with security compliance standardsExperience with site-to-site VPNs and/or remote access VPNsNetwork programmability for automating network tasks (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Python, Rest API’s)Experience with Data Center and co-location solutions as they relate to SDN architecture and DesignNextGen Firewall ExperienceExperience configuring/administrating various network technologies including Cisco ACI, Cisco DCNM, OTV, VMware NSXDemonstrated experience designing and implementing network reference architecture from mission requirements gathering to technology rollout oversight, including capacity management, technology selection, integration of multiple tools and technical documentationFamiliarity with Software defined networking (SDN) Network Disaggregation technologies and methodologies along with open-source solutionsAbility to brief complex information to senior leadershipFamiliarity with Software defined networking (SDN) Network Disaggregation technologies and methodologies along with open-source solutionsDrive enhancements through full life cycle from concept to final implementation and supportKey ResponsibilitiesInstallation and maintenance of network equipmentTroubleshooting and resolution of network issuesDesign network architectures based on customer requirements and industry best practicesDevelopment of unique solutions that will meet customer requirements and industry best practicesCollaborate effectively with other IT disciplines (e.g., Storage, Platform, Application) to troubleshoot and resolve complex problemsDevelop and maintain configurations plans for Cisco ACI design, planning, implementation, and testing, based on a multi data center configurationsCreate architectural design solutions and successfully present them to client stakeholdersWork with infrastructure engineers to identify new products and solutionsDocument maintenance for all computer systems and network infrastructureMaintain systems and documentation as needed for audits and complianceCommunications with customers: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying of impending changes, or coordinated outagesBe available for other engineers and coach them to resolutionParticipate in 24x7 on call and assist in resolving issues outside normal business hours
