{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"22b4e5f32b4b0a49ed6db0eb","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/22b4e5f32b4b0a49ed6db0eb","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/22b4e5f32b4b0a49ed6db0eb","title":"Engineer, Sr","description":"ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nServes on capital, competitive, and maintenance design projects by checking designs submitted by contractors, issuing approved projects for construction, and participating in the creation of conceptual transmission line designs and routing.\n\nMay collaborate and review designs created by other Engineers and Associate Engineers.\n\nPrepares cost estimates, material requisitions, specifications, and drawings for internally designed projects.\n\nResponds to inquiries from Planning or other departments related to existing or future transmission line and substation projects in the ITCT and METC footprints.\n\nParticipates on a work team of Transmission Line Design Engineers.\n\nParticipates in work group policy development, policy implementation, negotiation, and resolution of issues.\n\nCollaborates with other engineers and departments which may include consulting, managing projects, developing standards, organizing resources, or maintenance.\n\nProvides technical support and recommendations to field personnel and contractors for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of system components.\n\nProvides expertise for projects and committees regarding technical and non-technical matters related to design engineering.\n\nGenerates internal and external reports on various facets of transmission system.\n\nAttends meetings and training sessions to increase professional knowledge and skills.\n\nREQUIREMENTS\n\nBachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering or relevant, equivalent experience and/or education.\n\nMinimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible experience as an Electric Transmission Line or Substation Design Engineer.\n\nKnowledge of electric utility system operations, planning, protection, design, construction and/or maintenance functions preferred.\n\nStructural and/or Geotechnical coursework preferred for civil engineering majors.\n\nWorking knowledge of applicable codes and standards including National Electric Safety Code (NESC), American Concrete Institute (ACI) and American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) for civil engineering majors.\n\nPower system coursework preferred for electrical engineering majors.\n\nAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access).\n\nAbility to learn and utilize job specific software.\n\nPossess sound analytical problem-solving and documentation skills.\n\nAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors and individuals inside and outside the Company.\n\nAbility to multi-task and work under minimal supervision in a team environment.\n\nApplicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
